Redwitch and Mikka's F&W Live Food Porn Thread! FINALLY DONE! Huzzah!

About Freakin' Time!!!!

I think we will have some interesting food to show, even on a budget.

But, the most exciting news??? I found Chakalaka wine. Here. In Pennsylvania!!! :cool1:

I'm so glad you came back and finished! This dining review has been my favorite ever due to the adventurous food choices and the liberal partaking of alcoholic libations. I very much look forward to your next review and hope your trip is great!

The vegetarian haggis? I think mom liked it more then I did, but it was good. I still don't think I could work up the courage to try real haggis, but this was perfectly acceptable. I thought it was slightly dry, but I suppose that's what the rutabaga and potatoes were for- scoop it up together and give it some moisture. I'd recommend giving it a try.

Still making my way through your FABULOUS review, but I had to comment on this. DH and I just got back from a trip to Scotland, and the haggis was *amazing*. We both have some Scottish ancestry, so we may be predisposed to enjoy it, but I had real haggis there for the first time (as opposed to the canned stuff you get at the food booths a at the Scottish Games in the States), and it was really delicious. If you like liverwurst - and I'm guessing you might, since you said you were a fan of foie gras, which is also liver-based - you would like it. It basically tastes like liverwurst, but not quite so dense, and it has these oats in it that are cooked just to al dente, so they have provide a lovely little "pop" in every bite. The one I ordered was also served with "neeps & tatties" (mashed turnips & mashed potatoes), and a Drambuie-peppercorn sauce that was so good, I nearly licked my plate. Anyway, this is my long-winded way of saying: if you ever have the chance to try REAL haggis, in Scotland, go for it! And also, I'm really enjoying your review. :)

You had me at "Drambuie-peppercorn sauce."
Thanks for reading and putting up with the exploded pictures! If you right click and choose "view image", they pop up at regular size. :confused3

We enjoyed meeting both of you, as well! It is always nice to have pleasant dining companions and good conversation! We hope to attend another F&W in the future. If you're there in early May, maybe we'll see you trying out a food booth snack while admiring a topiary!

Well, depending on what you mean by "early May....?" We arrive the ninth of May. :)

LOL! We''ll be on the Dream for a 4-day cruise beginning the 4th and in the parks on the 8th. It's our first cruise ever, so we're pretty excited. We celebrate with family that weekend and will be available after that. We head home on the 15th. So....

We need to meet up! We are there the 9 - 16 (15 is my birthday.) Even a snack at a F&W booth would be awesome!
