I know I have been able to in the past but is it still true that if I make a dining reservation for say 10 people that I can call and reduce it to a lower number or show up with less and not be charged? Is this also true for Cinderella's Royal Table and Hoop Dee Doo since they are prepaid?

We had fewer in our party this summer than I had ADRs for since we had one family not be able to travel last minute. We just showed up with fewer than the number on the ADR and told them upon checking in. We were not charged a no show fee, but these weren't pre-paid dining events.

I've never done this with a prepaid ADR, but on our trip last fall, my cousin had to back out after our ADRs were made. We had no issue showing up with 3 instead of 4. For non-prepaid ADRs, as long as at least one person shows up, you won't be charged the no-show fee.

I think you can even change it online. I know I have done it before. However, the system might be wonky lately. I think it's better to go ahead and reduce it ahead of time, that way others might be able to get or modify an ADR.

I've been trying to book a table for one at Sci-Fi but it would only let me book for two. I am not missing out on this so I am just going to say the other party member is unwell and can't eat at the moment.

No need to lie. Just tell them you're a party of 1. Disney knows their system sucks for odd numbers especially parties of 1.

I agree. When you check in, say you are a party of one and that the online system would only let you book for a party of two so that's what you had to do since you really want to eat there. It really doesn't matter at Sci Fi since you will be seated in a car with others (more than likely be the hitchhiker) - you'll just save that row all to yourself.
