Redid Ressie to get FD, Now a question

I was able to rebook my reservation at POR for Dec 9-16 to make the first day room only and then get the free dining for the rest of my stay. The extremely helpful CM said that I could start using my 8 day ticket for the 9th, by calling telling the desk and they'd start it.

Is this right?

If it is, that is so awesome. I saved 329, even though I'm paying rack rate for the 9th. I figure we'll skimp the first day since we'll be paying for the food ourselves and then splurge the next few days.

I think that can happen if you book two ressies, one room only and the other for the rest of your stay with the dining. Though I do believe that your tickets won't be available on your first day. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, you can pick up the ticket portion of your package a couple of days early. I am not positive if you can do it if you are offsite, but if you are on I am sure that you can.

We are staying onsite, so I think if I ask when i check in for the room only it will clear the tickets.

yes, you can get your ticket at least one day in advance. You should have no problem.

So what you all are saying is; By booking 2 nt room only at AKL (via Orbitz) with checkin 2 days later at POFQ for FD, I am able to pickup my park tickets early during my stay at AKL??
