Redeeming Orbitz Voucher

We just purchased my son's DL ticket from Orbitz. He is the only one of our group who needed a ticket and he is only 4. Obviously he does not have a photo id. Am I right in assuming I can just show my photo id to pick up his ticket?

Also, can we exchange the voucher on our arrival day (we don't plan on going to the parks but will be near there) and just not use the ticket until the next day? We hope to do a magic morning the first day so would like to avoid the line at the ticket booth in the morning.

We have never used a voucher so I have no idea how this works. thanks!

You should have the person and credit card associated w/ the purchase there to pick up the ticket. As for picking it up the night before, that's a rock solid plan.

Ok. It was my credit card so no big deal. I put the date prior on the ticket so we could pick it up early. I really don't want to deal with it first thing in the morning!

I just realized that since we won't be getting in until early evening and because of the price of parking (and not wanting to be out late with the littles) it probably won't work for us to get to a ticket booth the day before.

So how bad will the ticket booth lines be on a Wednesday morning in September? (The week of Labor Day.) Any hints on how to make the process as smooth and quick as possible?

Can one of you stay with the kids at the hotel while the other one runs to the ticket booth the night before? Are you staying at one of the onsite hotels? If so, you can exchange your voucher at the front desk.

We are staying at a timeshare about a mile out. We thought about one of us running for the ticket (I am assuming the 4 yr old needs to be with us since his name is on the ticket?) but won't we still have to pay $17 for parking (or whatever it is) to go to the ticket booth?

He doesn't need to be present to get his ticket. Only you need to be there since the order was placed in your name. What timeshare are you staying at? You can hop on ART to get there instead of driving.

I think you can park at DTD and pay a minimal fee, or even free if validated?

I really don't think it's worth a separate trip to the park to exchange the voucher. We experienced little to no wait at the ticket booths during both of our DL trips. Make sure to arrive with time before MM starts and you should be fine. To save a little time, have the rest of your group line up at the turnstiles while you pick up the ticket.

Yes, you can park at DTD for free for 3 hours (no validation needed). I do think it's worth exchanging the voucher the night before if you can because you never know what kind of issues might come up with the Orbitz voucher and you really don't want to be standing there for 45min missing out on your MM because the CM can't find your tickets in their system. This happened to us when we went in March. It was just my mom's ticket purchased through Cheaptickets (same company as Orbitz) and they could not find her reservation in the system. We seriously had 4 different CMs trying to figure it out and finally one of them had to actually call Cheaptickets. We were there for 45min and I'm soooo glad we did it the night before we entered the parks!
On the other hand, I've also been in the situation were they were able to process it in 5 minutes. you just never know.

Even though the voucher has his name on it?

I redeemed a voucher with 2 tickets on it, one for me and one for our son. I had to show my id but my so didn't even have to be at the counter even though he is 10 so we had to get him and adult ticket.

I just did this on 8/23. I had purchased 3 adult tickets and 1 child ticket. I was the only one that went to the counter. My Orbitz vouchers only had my name though, not any in my family's.
