An FYI for those of you who are planning on using Disney Reward card points towards the purchase of theme park tickets.
We only wanted individual day tickets (2 days) so we weren't able to purchase them at the Disney Store. On the morning of our first park day we got to the concierge/front desk early so that we could get our tickets and get off to the park to be there when it opened.
Unfortunatly, it took an hour for us to get our tickets taken care of. For some reason there was an issue of communication between Disney's machines and the Reward cards machines so that it kept timing out the transacations (both mine and my mothers). Three cast members werent' sure how to proceed and after trying this for 30 mins AND calling the 1-800 number on the back of the Rewards card they decided to go ask their manager. After another 30 mins, they just decided to go ahead and give us the tickets but not charge us because they couldn't get the Disney Rewards cards to go thru.
We left them with specific instructions that between our two studios we wanted to purchase 4 2-day park passes and use our points (400 combined) towards the cost of these passes. Any remaining cost (which we knew there would be) was to be charged to my mothers VISA. Needless to say, when we got our bill it was charged to my VISA and not hers.
So a word of advice, try to purchase your tickets in advance if at all possible! Or do it right when you check into the resort. All in all the cards ended up going thru and we got in ok but it was a MAJOR hassle.
Anyone else have any issues with their Disney VISA reward cards?
