Red Tape Bans Hurricane Aid

Around 400,00 army food packs sent by Britain to help victims of katrina are rotting in US warehouses. Distribution was halted because British meat and poultry is banned under BSE regulations. US officials are trying to find another country willing to take the packs.

Personally I find that offensive! If they US officials had no intention of using the aid why did they accept it! Hopefully the aid will go to a country who really needs it!

I don't understand this either but I sure do appreciate the UK for trying to help us.

Sometimes aid is sent in so fast and in large quantities--that it was just a processing issue.

If these are MRE's--they are far from rotting though.
