There has been a really great build up to Comic Relief's Red Nose Day tomorrow!

Are you taking part in anything especially?

Been baking cakes all week (slight exaggeration!)...then we sell them to staff at work and raise loads!...its amazing how many cakes they'll eat in the name of charity!!! ;) :Pinkbounc

Only the usual daft hair thing for which I wil pay a hefty fine at work. I thought that I may try wacky bunches and considering that I am a lady of um somewhat mature years this is as daft as I can get!!!!! I have also indulged in numerous phone calls for that comic relief fame academy, which has been very entertaining. Carolyn

Have you tried the "squeaking" clock?? Dial 123...it's hilarious!!!:D :p :Pinkbounc

We're having a bit of a red day in work :)

I'm wearing red from head to toe, have put some red streaks in my hair (which I'm assured will wash out  ), stuck some fluffy pom-poms over my head, and have made some cakes (not red) to sell.

It will be good fun, and hopefully we'll raise some cash along the way.

Carolyn and Hilary ........ we want pictures :teeth: !!

I'm lost again. Afraid to ask what "Red Nose Day" is?

Just another British thing, Olaf (LOL)

Red Nose Day is sort of the official day for celebrating Comic Relief.

Comic relief is a good cause organisation that raises money for less fortunate people. Two thirds of the money raised is sent to places like Africa, and the remaining third is to help those in need of it in the UK.

It is held every two years, and each year it seems to get bigger and bigger.
It is on BBC1 the whole night, and there is lots and lots going on all round the country - and it is very fun.

Anyway, the red nose is the mascot for Comic Relief. This year the noses have hair (fluff) and the theme is the BIG HAIR Do.

You will not believe what my older sister has gone to work dressed like!
My younger sis has also gone to school completely dressed in red from head to toe. She has a red nose, a red nose T shirt, all red clothes, wacky bunches in her hair, red hair spray........................

I know this is a pretty feeble explanation - im sure someone else can do better.

Well we did loads and raised over £450!

We all wore red clothes and our hair in bunches and red ribbon. We did the comic releif sweepstake poster. A couple of people dyed there hair red. We did a comic relief quiz which my friend and I won. and made buns and Pooh cake :D

Looking forward to watching some of the sketches on TV tonight :D

.....I had to correct your link Neo's WR as it wasn't working :)

Carene you did a great job of explaining Red Nose Day- I should add that the red nose came with gel for the hair LOL!!

Steph, the whole evening's programming on BBC is given over to Comic Relief and you get a mix of comedy and well known people doing crazy things interspersed with some very moving film of what it is all for. Quite an emotional rollercoaster. All the while people are asked to call and donate to lines operated by volunteers and not a penny goes to the fund raising efforts and everyone gives their time for free - it all goes - every penny - to aiding very needy and worthwhile projects in Africa and UK.

BTW, I just loved Harry Potter and the Secret Chamberpot of Azerbaijan and the Michael Jackson spoof interview!!

Thanks Shirley, not sure why it wouldn't work, I tried and you could only cut and paste - needed your expert touch :)

I can't believe it. I did my hair as wacky as possible in very silly bunches, and al my colleagues said that it was the neatest they'd ever seen it. LOL Carolyn:eek:

My kids schools had total red days. Everyone was asked to wear red (why is there always one kid who turns up in normal uniform). Red clothes, red hair, red noses, even red food. Try thinking of red food that's not tomatoes or apples.

It's a pity that the BBC don't start the comedy earlier as loads of young kids want to get involved. My daughter is 6 and most of the show was too adult orientated.

Loved Robbie Williams.

I always feel real sorry for the kid who's mom didn't bother to pay attention (LOL).
