Out trip started out for dd11 and myself 9/24 -9/30. Dd is out of school for 2 days and only have to miss 3. Then decided we wanted more time so change it to 9/23 - 9/30. WI wanted to have a day at home before work/school. Traveling from Oregon. Now I'm thinking of taking the red eye 9/23 and getting to Orlando at 9:30am. I know we will still be tired as the first leg is 4.5 hours and the second 1.5 with an hour lay over. If we keep a easy day and do Fantasia is this doable??????? :bounce: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Can either of you sleep on a plane? We also travel from OR and almost always take the red eye. My husband sleeps the whole way, which makes it a quick trip for him. I can never sleep as much as a wink, but as long as I don't push myself the first day I'm ok. We did this with our daughters a couple of times when they were around your daughter's age, and they slept enough to be ok. Other people we've traveled this way with didn't do as well. If you're going to Fantasmic the first night you might want to nap that afternoon, and not plan to be up real early the next morning. Our next trip we'll be flying out of PDX late on 9/22. It sure beats arriving there just in time for bed!

Thanks for your imput. My dd will be able to sleet at least the first part and maybe the second. If I'm tired enough maybe I cound sleep the first leg. I think we will try it. I hate to lose any time there but don't want to give up being home one day before the work/school schedule takes over. :cool1: :cheer2: princess:

I'm going to give you a different opinion (just my opinion though). We arrived one year on lack of sleep. We will never do that again. It was very tough for us the first two days or so. We were wiped and felt we lost more productive time than if we would have flown in and arrived in the afternoon the next day. My youngest was about 5 and oldest was about 12 at that time. We kept trudging along but we were so tired we really didn't enjoy ourselves (at least not as much as we do when we aren't sleep deprived).

Good Luck on your decision. :)
