My four year old and I are taking a red eye out of Seattle on Tuesday March 16th. (All I could get with my mileage) We will get into Orlando sometime around 6:30 a.m. I am expecting we will arrive to the resort at around 7:30 a.m.

Do you think there is any chance we will be able to check into our room that early in the morning? I am hoping they will take pity on me with my sleepy four year old and give me a room so he can go back to sleep since 7:30 a.m. is only 4:30 a.m. to us West Coasters.

If they won't let us check in that early because official "check in" is at 4:00, do you think they would let me add a night to our room at the rate we have so we can get our room quicker? I understand if they don't have rooms available that would be impossible but I would rather not have to pay the extra night's room if I don't have to of course. I thought about Pricelining a room for the night before we get in but then we would have to deal with checking out of there by probably 11:00 or 12:00 and then going to another resort. That might be more trouble than its worth. Not sure yet. :)

Anyone been able to check in REALLY early? :) If not, what did you do until you could check in?

I have had good luck checking in early and being able to get a room. I have checked in as early as 8:30am but I read a post on another thread a few days ago where someone said they were able to check in as early as 6:30am. :)

We usually check in early at The cabins in Fw. The earliest has been 8:00 am. If there is a room available they will give it to you.
If not they will check you in and hold your luggage until your room is available. We usually go out to eat and do something relaxing, maybe sit by the pool or go to the petting zoo in FW.:sunny:

my wife and i are taking a red eye from los angeles in a few weeks and arriving at animal kingdom lodge at around 6:30 am. to make absolutely sure we would have a room when we arrived i bit the bullet and started our reservation the previous night. it hurts but i got a better room rate than i expected so it didn't hurt as much as it could have. :-) anyway, i didn't want to take a chance at not having a room when we arrived.

p.s. love your websites, adventurerkat! especially the new adventurersclub.net one. i may be able to dig up photos of dottie and yvette in maid attire.

We are taking the Alaska Airlines redeye out of Seattle on Apr 9 and I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to know how it goes for you though I think because we are arriving the Saturday before Easter, there will be few rooms available at CSR, especially at 6:30 AM. If we are absolutely exhausted, and if we can't get rooms that early and if the weather is good, I picture us laying on lounge chairs by the pool. Worse case, we'll snooze in the car in the parking lot until we get a room.

I'm too cheap to pay for a room the night before just in case. We'll make do but I have my fingers crossed for a real early check in.

I took an Alaska Airlines red eye out of Seattle last month coming back home to Washington DC. It was all I could do not to hop on that plane bound for Orlando. Of course I did come home and schedule my own trip to Orlando. lol

If you were going in a slow season I would think you might stand a good chance of getting into a room, but mid march is the beginning of spring break season, what you might do is wait until a few days before you leave and look online to see if any rooms are available to book on line....you don't have to book one just see if any are still available. If your resort is sold out you might want to make other plans. If you go the Priceline route by the airport you should not have any trouble getting a late checkout. We have asked at the HI Select and the Hyatt in the airport both on Priceline reservations and both gladly offeredd 3PM chckouts. (Since so many of their clients check in late and they house a lot of airline flight crews that come and go at odd hours)

If I was travelling with a little one I would opt for the $40 for a Priceline room...it would look really good at 6AM after all night on the plane. A lot of people have been getting the Hyatt in the airport on Priceline from early March through mid April (I got it for $38 for 1 night easter week).

Travellady...I would be amazed if you got in early the Saturday before easter...keep us posted.

Does anyone know what the extra charge to have a 3rd adult in our cabin is? We are staying at the FW cabins. I remember reading maybe 5.00 a night but I am not sure.

There has only been one time we did not get into our room early in the morning. We, however, are two adults, so it is not too much of a problem - we just get a couple of cokes and hit the parks - I am usually too excited to sleep once I am at WDW. :hyper:

One time our flight got changed, and we actually got in at 3AM. We were staying at CSR, and they were so nice, they let us have our room. So, anything is possible...

Have a great trip!!! :wave2:

Thanks everyone. My husband said if they wouldn't let us have a room (if available) then we should just lay down in the lobby and sleep. That would encourage them to get us a room QUICK. ha ha.

Not sure what I will do. Have thought about the airport Hyatt but so expensive and not sure if willing to risk it on Priceline because I don't want to get some other airport hotel. The Hyatt would be great because it is right there.

I will maybe do the checking on line and see what is out there and decide then.

Thanks for your help.

AdventurerKat - the MCO Hyatt does have day rooms. They are talked about on the DCL boards here at the DIS all the time. They cost $60 for the day, and that might be a great option for you. Check-in right after getting your luggage, take a nap, and go over to the Poly around noon or so. Call the Hyatt directly to inquire. 1 407 825 1234
