I have a question since we are doing an escape we cant do a normal reception but i wanted to at least do a lunch/dinner of some sort ... Any ideas on where ? there will be between 15-20 ppl. BUT 8 of which are kids ages 13-6.

any ideas? :confused3

Hi Pixie.....I have wrestled with this question since that day I booked our wedding:confused: ! We are only having 15 and several are kids too. I say if your ceremony allows for it, DO DINNER! Lunch in the world is just too hard. UNLESS:idea: you do lunch in the parks. As far as the resorts go, there isn't many options:sad2: . The GFC has gotten some pretty bad reviews here wedding wise, although it's probably a great place to be and take pics. I am debating The Wave at the contemp. and The Kona at the Poly as of today lol:lmao: . Hang in there, the other girl's will be along soon to share what they know;) . My vote however, is do dinner if you can, MORE OPTIONS that way ( Narcoossees, Cali Grill, etc.) Best of luck!!!:yay:

This is just a suggestion but what about a character meal like Chef Mickey's? That might be more fun than something like Cali Grill since there will be many children. You'd definitely get attention from the characters.

We're renting a room at the Boardwalk convention center, it's a little pricey but it's going to make the day so easy!

Where are you having the ceremony?

Our ceremony is at SBP at noon. IF we do a resort resterant can we stay in our wedding attire? it si just the parks where you cant keep it on right..?

Yeah you can go to any resort in your wedding attire but not the parks.

Did you look on alleard.net and check out all the restaurant menus? Do you want to stay near the boardwalk and eat around there or would you like to go to another resort...if travel is not an issue with you then I say go with Ohana's the food is amazing, the kids will love it and it is a family oriented restaurant.

Chef Mickeys would also be fun with the characters :)

We were aiming for an early dinner at Chef Mickey's, but it is booked solid for our wedding day :sad1: Our wedding is at noon, so lunch is more convenient for us. I agree it has been a pain. Finally, we settled for a lunch reception at Fulton's.
We also considered Big River Grille and Brewing Works (Boardwalk)
and Wolfgang Puck Cafe (Downtown Disney) you can find the menus at allears.net

Good luck in finding what you want!

Maybe I give up too easily, but with our noon SBP wedding, I just found the whole process of doing a lunch to be too much stress and hassle. We are doing a pay-your-own-way welcome dinner the night before, and are having a dessert party at EPCOT the night of, so I don't feel too bad about it. My Dad is also paying to have Mickey and Minnie come to our cake cutting as a special treat for DF and I as well as our guests.

We thought about doing dinner, but the timing was going to be bad with the dessert party and with me wanting to wear my dress to the meal. The first seating is generally at five, so I would have had to get out of my dress after the wedding, get back in my dress for dinner, and then get back out of my dress before the DP. It was too much stress and hassel, so now we will provide the cake and cider reception and the DP but no meal in between!

I feel much less stressed about this and we aren't even there. I also think haveing M&M at the cake cutting is a good replacement for the meal, and more memorable.

HTH someone!

I also toyed with the idea of having my lunch reception in the hotels, because I wanted to wear my wedding dress. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any restaurants that suited me for lunch – not many of the good ones are open for lunch – so instead, we are going to Epcot after our 10 a.m. wedding for lunch at Les Chefs de France. The only problem is you have to make sure that everyone has a park ticket :headache:. There are 4 of our guests who will not have park hoppers because they aren’t lengthening their stay past our wedding, so we’re paying for their park tickets to get in to Epcot. Its not too much of a big deal because I still have two park hopper passes from when I used to work for Disney:yay:! I also am wearing a white sundress into the park to feed my craving of wanting to wear my wedding dress all day:rotfl:!!!
