We are staying at the Dolphin in a couple of months - can anyone recommend which is the best wing and Room Numbers to stay in - we would prefer to be close to the Grotto pool, and restaurants hopefully viewing towards MGM?

Thanks in advance.

After further investigation I think it's the West wing that we want as it is close to the pool and the restaurants. Can someone confirm this please?

Yup, I stayed in the west wing this week. I had a view of Tower of Terror out one window and a partial Spaceship Earth View from one of two balconies.

I was on business and did not get to go to the Grotto Pool. (but I did when we stayed at the Swan on vacation last year) The west wing is closer to the Grotto Pool but still could be a bit of a hike based on the size of the Dolphin.

Have fun!

Thanks so....hopefully West Wing it will be.

Please can anyone share the room numbers that they stayed in?
The View? Was it a good room?
Which are the best standard room numbers and on which floor?

We were in West Wing - Room 8175 - we had a view of the Grotto pool, TOT and Mt.Everest in the distance.

Ask for room in the West wiing - outside wing closests to the Grotto Pool and a upper floor.
You will have better views with an upper floor (5,6,7,or 8) :goodvibes

Thank you. Can you recall the room numbers on that floor. Would they go 8170, 8171, 8172, 8173.....etc. Or 8173, 8175, 8177, 8179 on one side of the floor and even numbers on the other side with a different view?

Well I was just wondering.

Are all the rooms in the west wing newly refurbished? Are there any rooms/floors we should avoid?

Not long now. Wondering whether to email Dolphin to request rooms in the west wing high floor etc

First, are you enrolled in Starwood? If not, go to spg.com and enroll. You'll be issued a # which you can email to Dolphin and have added to your reservation. You'll get "points" for your stay, but the real reason I'm encouraging you to enroll is that it will give you an automatic upgrade (based on availability of course!) to a higher level room! :woohoo: We've always booked "standard" and never had a "standard" room - always been upgraded! :thumbsup2

I don't know particular room #'s, but our best rooms/best views have been when we've requested "Epcot view; high floor". It always seems to get us on the 8th or 9th floor with a breath-taking view of Epcot (sometimes we get a balcony, sometimes not).

There were lots of room renovations going on when we were there last week. They're working 7 days a week so the crews are making good progress. Your trip is over a month away? They'll probably have most, if not all, the rooms done by then! :) Have a GREAT trip!!
