We will be arriving on Nov 4 and, being rabid Yankee fans, will need to find a decent place to watch potential World Series games 6 & 7. I don't care to fight mad crowds to get into the ESPN Club and they don't take reservations, so what other choices would be good? We are staying at Poly, so a lounge on the monorail would be awesome. Does Disney ever set up special viewing areas/screens when something big like the Series or Olympics is on?

Thanks!

There is a big screen tv at the Poly at the Tamu Tamu lounge right next to Ohana. You could probably watch it there. I'm the TV will be tuned to the World Series if not you could always ask.

Don't worry about game 6 or 7; it will be over by then. We just let the Yankees win last night, so the Phillies can win at home again this year!!!!!

40 square miles of Disney and you want to watch men play with balls.:confused3

We leave for WDW 11/2, returning 11/7, also staying at the Poly and my Dh is a HUGE Phillies fan - being seeing you at the lounge!!!

Excellent!

Is it OK for a 14 and 17 year old to sit in the lounge? I'm guessing yes as long as they are not sitting directly at a bar (at least that's the law in NJ).

Didn't intend to start the banter about Yanks vs. Phillies!

Victoria Falls lounge at AKL.

But really Yankes and Phillies? Boring!!!
At least take time out and watch football if your going to watch sports.

They still play baseball in America??

Can't vouch for the rest of the country, but they play it really well in Philadelphia!

If I'm gonna miss the Phillies victory parade this year, at least I'll be in Disney with lots of other Phillies fans thanks to Jersey week.

I'm sure I don't have to ask, but make sure you're wearing your red Phillies fans!!!

Another Phillies fan here :thumbsup2

Last year we went for Jersey Week and there was a sea of red- hoping this year will be the same :woohoo: Since we leave Wednesday, I am so hoping it will be over in 5. I love the Phillies but it would be tough for me to watch from the Poly with the Magic Kingdom calling...save a spot for DH in front of the TV because he will definitely be there watching.

My hubby and I are huge Phillies fans and we're going to WDW in May. We're planning a date night for 1 night and not sure if the Phillies will be playing yet or not because we don't know what night we'll be going out. If a game is on we'll be at ESPN if no game we'll be having drinks around the world in EPCOT.

I was lucky enough to watch the Phillies become World Champions last year at the bar outside of Ohana and Kona at the Poly. It was somewhat of a small area, but suited us just fine. Wish I was there to watch them become World Champions again this year, but I am just fine with watching that happen in my living room :thumbsup2

Also if it is anything like last year it will be all Phillies fans (and I not talking about just bandwagon Phillies fans)

Sorry, but the series will be over by then. Yankees in 5!

1) I can see where some allegencies reside.
2) Sadly, both are true, but for a different reason.
3) With the lengthened season, the last games will be postponed until spring.
4) Too much snow and ice on the fields.
5) Plus, no where to park Santa's sleigh when the Series stretches to Christmas.

:rotfl:

Too bad you won't be there this year . . . to see the Phillies bow to the almighty NY Yankees as they win another World Series.

Go Giants!

Sorry. Not going to happen! Phils in 5 or 6. If there is one thing I have learned about the Phillies, it is to never, ever under-estimate them. They thrive on being the underdogs.

How can the defending World Series Champions be the underdogs? Guess that was a fluke against a weak team.:rolleyes1
