Recommendations of where to buy a diamond ring?

My first thought would be to try a local independent jewellers rather than places such as your normal high street stores, they will offer better value and quality for you money. Other then that have you have a look around online, do you know what you want?

I recently got my engagement ring from Ernest Jones- The selection was fantastic and there was something for all budgets. Plus, all the staff were really helpful at all the branches we visited.

Our wedding rings and engagement ring came from Clive Ranger, but we also looked around local jewellers to and they had some gorgeous 'one offs'.
Remember it has to last a life time!
Oh and it took my DH 4 months to choose my ring, he kept going back to shop to keep trying different ones! ha ha ha

Dh bought me a lovely new diamond wedding band and engagement ring this year when we were in orlando, they were from Kays jewelers in the florida mall, i really love them and feel we got far more for our money as i have had them valued at double the price back home! as you are going in sept i would definatley reccommend waiting!

Thats a good idea, if you could do it in secret -maybe they have a website to give you an idea of prices etc.

If you are talking about out in Florida I got a beautiful diamond necklace from Zales last year. With the exchange rate you can get a lot more for your money!

OOh - no advice I'm afraid My DH bought mine while he was working away somewhere so I had no idea until he proposed.
