Hey all! Coming up soon, my wife and myself are bringing our child for his first WDW trip. We were planning on stroller fans for him to help aid in the heat. Just looking for recommendations for certain fans or strategies that may be helpful!

Thanks in advance!

clip on stroller fan, just pack extra batteries :) when ours were babies we used the ones in a plastic cage or they just keep grabbing them. Once toddler age they like the spray fan kind, with the soft blades, you can get them at target. Just watch their hair if it's long.

We have one that is rechargeable and just charge it every night. It is a clip on but I’m looking to switch to one of the ones with the 3 coil legs because ours would move around.

Thanks everyone! We have had our eye on some of the ones with the coils to wrap around. Was interested what everyone else thought.

Does everyone simply point a fan (or two) at baby? Or does anyone turn one fan away (in order to “exhaust” some heat in a sense). Was toying around with the idea, wasn’t sure if there was a plausible basis behind it

I don’t know how old your child is, but when my son couldn’t control his body temp and needed a wheel chair years ago, we bought a hand held air conditioner that worked well. We just had to keep the sponge wet and cold water worked best.

this sounds phenomenal. I’ll have to look into it

We only used 1 fan. We are going in 2 weeks and will use 1 fan. But we plan to take a break after lunch every day and come back around 4:00 or 5:00 so hoping this helps with the heat.

I usually live by the rope drop, mid day break, return in the evening to avoid the worst of the heat. Just the first time with the little one so making sure we do it right!

Be aware that soft blade styles without a cage can be very tempting for little fingers to pull on. They won't get hurt if they do it, but the fan will: when my eldest got hold of those as a baby it usually took him less than 2 minutes to tear all the blades off, leaving us with a completely useless fan.

Also, here is my trick for preserving regular batteries: flip one of them. Many of the fans are made so that the switch is easily tripped when stored in a bag or folded against the frame of a stroller. It runs the battery down and then it's dead when you try to use it. I found that the best solution is to always open the battery chamber and flip the polarity of one of the batteries before putting away the fan.
