Recommendations for Signature Restaurants?

We are planning out dining for our upcoming Sept. trip with our two children (2 1/2 and 3 months). We are staying at CBR so we get the free dining plan! We don't want to have a reservation for dinner every night we are there (7 nights) so we thought we would try two sign. restaurants. So far we chose Narcoosees for one night (wanted to last time we went but couldn't get reserv.)

So what other signature restaurants are worth trying? So far we were considering California Grill or Artist's Point...Thoughts...suggestions??

Thanks!

we love yachtsman steakhouse, but if you're not on the dining plan... you should try shula's steakhouse at the dolphin!!

Citricos and Artist Point are my 2 favorites...but I think kids might prefer California Grill.

California Grill, Artist Point, Citricos and Flying Fish are all favorites of ours

I'm not trying to burst you bubble, but please don't get hung up on the "signature" designation. That is pure marketing by Disney. Yes, some of them are good restaurants, probably not as good as they were before Disney invented the "signature" designation, but my suggestion is to look past that and go with what restaurants, "signature" or otherwise, offer the meals you really want. Look at menus and reviews, take it all in knowing everyone has their own taste, and decide from that.

I totally agree with the PP! There are so many nice TS restaurants at WDW. Don't get me wrong: most of the signature restaurants serve wonderful food. But some of them aren't particularly 'child friendly'. Their target market is really the adults. Yes they have child menus, but.... Just saying the whole family can often have a more relaxed and enjoyable meal at a 'regular' restaurant.

Take a good look at the menus under the Dining tab at the top of the page and see which restaurants serve the kind of food you're looking for.

We were thinking of choosing 2 signature restaurants for 2 reasons...there are quite a few that sound good and we figure since we are getting the dining plan for free...why not? The other reason is that we were thinking that dinner reserv every night might be a bit much. So if we do 2 sig. rest then that frees up 2 nights where we can be more laid back.

CA Grill and ARTIST Point are both great but we like to use couple of our TS for character breakfast (each breakfast is 1 TS) and favorites :dance3: are Hollywood and Vine with (Manny) and Tusker House at Animal Kingdom for Donald's Safari breakfast. Another great character breakfast is Cape May with Goofy and friends. Chef Mickey had to be marked off our list as food and service horrible last two trips. Great steak place for 1 TS is Kona Grille in the Poly:cheer2:

The single best use of 2 table services is Hoop Dee Doo. I really don't think any other meal is worth 2 if you have kids. My kids love this show whereas at any signature restaurant they are ordering off the kids menu, which just seems a bit of a waste. Just my opinion.

I agree. Hoop-Dee-Doo is every bit as good as it was 25 years ago and is probably the only WDW dining experience that can make that claim.

Thank you for the suggestion. I think if the kids were older this would be a good option...they will be 2.5 and 3 months in Sept for trip. That being said, since it is so close we can't get reserv any way...

So far we are doing the garden grill in EP for the character dining. We JUST booked the trip this week....so I feel like we were lucky to even get that...

Other places we have booked are: Kona (couldn't get Ohana :sad1:), Narcooseess, San Angel, Tony's, and Mama Melrose...but we would cancel Tony's and Mama if we chose a sign. rest...
