I've recently been laid off (technically) from my job. New ownership and I chose not to stay with the new owner. So, I've decided to pursue doing independent contracting work as a travel agent and massage therapist. I'll need a phone and fax line for the travel agent gig. I'll be using my personal cell number for my massage clients. We currently don't have a land line. We have our TV service through Directv and Internet through AT&T.

Any recommendations? Something economical and easy to set up. I've never even used a fax machine before so it's all new to me.

Thanks!

I have always used a brother fax machine. They seemed easy enough to run. But I have not used one in years. So there may be something better. But being a travel agent you would just email your clients confirmations. But your other business don't have a clue. You would also need to set up a landline in order to hook up your fax machine.

We use Ooma for our "landline." Initial expense is about $100 but the monthly charge for unlimited calls in the continental US is only the local taxes and fees. Here in NY that's $4.30/month.
