Will be going back home next August and plan on staying 4 nights at our home resort, BLT, and 4 additional nights at a second resort. Having trouble deciding which one. DD (11) really wants to stay at Kidani Village with a Savannah view. DS (9) does not care. DW and I are leaning towards BCV. We spend a lot of time in all 4 parks and are concerned about how much bus time we will endure if we stay at Kidani. (This is why we also do not consider SS, even though it looks really nice). Also, any comments on whether we will have a problem getting a reservation at the 7 month window for next August at Kidani or BCV would be helpful also.

Your kids would LOVE Kidani for sure. The bus to MK is pretty long so if your kids are like mine and always want go back for a swim it can take a while. The pool area though is so fun for kids, the villas are spectacular, the animals are so cool, community hall is great, etc, etc.

We are about to have our first visit to BCV so I can't comment personally, but if you can get it I think it would be perfect for August to have use of Stormalong Bay.

SSR is gorgeous without a doubt. Of all the resorts we've stayed at we had the best bus service there last January. The bus to MK isn't very long and the bus to Epcot is super fast. The boat/walk to DTD is awesome. The multiple themed pools are nice too.

I would try for BCV and if not available book Kidani followed by Saratoga Springs.

Just pick one and go for it. :thumbsup2

During your ownership you will stay at all of the resorts multiple times. Why make life harder than it has to be. :goodvibes

Don't worry about the bus time. In the scheme of things it's a small part of the day. Some resorts may have a short ride time, but long wait time. Stay where you would enjoy the resort. My vote would be for Kidani. They will love the pool and the savanah view.

I would give you a 95% plus chance of getting into Kidani at seven months in August. Chances could be down to 50% or less at BCV at seven months in August.

Just and educated guess of course.

If you spend time in 4 parks, then SSR is a very good location, being centrally located to all parks.

At 7 months Kidani will always be easier due to being larger than BCV. For BCV you will need to call exactly 7 months out as soon as they open.

Oh my goodness you can't go wrong with any of them. Kidani and BCV are both excellent choices. But don't let buses keep you from SSR or OKW. They are both AWESOME. Being able to walk and boat back and forth between them(and boat to the Port Orleans resorts) is fantastic and the proximity to DTD can't be beat. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. :goodvibes

BCV is more difficult to get than AKV, because of the better pool and the size of the resort. So I would suggest to try BCV and if it's not available go with AKV. Next time you'll not have much problems to stay in AKV Savannah view (since the majority of rooms are savannah view there is always plenty of availability).

At either Kidani or BC, plan on spending at least one day enjoying the resort. Both are destinations in and of themselves. When we take our little guy (now 8) to either, that's what he wants to do, stay at the resort.

The distance from Kidani to anything is nothing to be concerned with. No matter where you stay at WDW, something is further from your resort than another thing... :confused3

SSR is a good place too. Actually, they all are depending on personal preference.

We don't care at ALL for BWV, but others love the joint, so it really is all up to you.

Our son (age 8) would stay at AKV every time if he could. He absolutely loves it, and we're pretty fond of it, too. The combination of good restaurants (we love Sanaa, Jiko, and Boma), good pools and water play area, the interesting and friendly cast members (many of whom are from Africa and have great tales to tell), and, of course, the animals, combine to make it a wonderful experience. We usually try to do a non park day or two, just to enjoy some of what AKV has to offer.

We like BCV, too, but we haven't had as good luck booking it. BC was one of our favorite places to stay before we bought DVC. The location and Stormalong Bay are the things about it that most appealed to us. (We slightly prefer BWV because of the views in the Boardwalk View rooms, and because of the easier walk to DHS, but you're unlikely to be able to get the boardwalk view at 7 months then.)

would go for BCV - just so you can try it. Walking to Epcot in 5 to 10 minutes is GREAT!

BWV is bigger so you would probably have better luck there.

Personally, I would go with the more relaxed feel at AKV or OKW after being at BLT.

We love being able to walk to the Boardwalk and Epcot from BCV and enjoy the boat ride to Disney Studios. However, we would love to try a savannah room at AKV. You'll enjoy your time at either resort. Have a great trip!

BCW and BWV are our favorites. You can't beat being able to walk to Epcot and hte Studios. The bus trip to MK is short too. But we also have 2 young kids and about to have a 3rd. In september we will have 2 strollers so the buses are not an easy thing for us.

With that said we are staying at Kidani starting next thursday. We had to redo our trip from february when ds2 had to be in the hospital after issues with a surgery. Kidani was the only thing available so we took it. I know my boys will like it but I'm not looking forward the buses at all.

Between BCV (we own there- last stayed in September) and Kidani I'd pick Kidani. The bus ride isn't all that bad, at least to the MK. I prefer the theme at Kidani, found the staff to be very efficient and welcoming, good restaurants, and our younger three love the animals.

I'm one of the few people who isn't crazy about SAB, so maybe that makes my opinion questionable. ;)

I've never stayed at a DVC resort I didn't like (still have Vero and Aulani to go). I think each one has its own appeal.
