Hi all

DH & I are going to be at WDW for Dec. 12 through 20 '06, we'll be staying at our home resort - SSR. This is our Christmas present to ourselves!

Since this is our first trip to WDW around Christmas time...what do you recommend as a *must* to do and see?

Thanks!

Since this is your first time I recomend
you get the Birnbaum's book for Walt
Disney World. They make one book for
adults (it talks more about making
reservations, planning your day and stuff
like that) and they also make one for kids
(it mainly talks about the rides and a
little bit about places to eat). They are both
great books and they deffinetly help out a
lot :goodvibes

You are in for a real treat! Do not miss: Epcot with the lighted arch and decorations and the candlelight processional and the gingerbread men at Liberty and the Christmas wine from Germany. Eat at Biergarten during a show and be sure and catch the santas from every country.

Go to a MVMCP for the ambiance, decorations, and snow on Main St.

You have to see the Osbourne Lights at MGM. They are incredible. They sell eggnog from pushcarts.

A very nice Englishy gentleman gives out roasted chestnuts in front of GF and the trees are very pretty.

A sleigh ride at WL and then sitting in front of their tree and roaring fireplace are also not to be missed.

Be warned though that Christmas at DW is addictive. We've certainly been hooked.

Resort-hopping is a must, especially the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian, the beautiful tree at the Wilderness Lodge, the carousel at the Beach Club and the boardwalk scene at the Boardwalk. :santa:

Osbourne Lights at MGM! They are just breathtaking. The music is festive--the "snow" is falling--just lovely!

If you are there for the Christmas Parade at MK (I think it starts on 12-23), be sure to see that.

I have never been to MVMCP, but people on the dis rave about it!

I would resort-hop just to see the decorations!!! And buy the personalized Christmas ornaments. I still regret that I didn't get my kids ornaments to remember our trip.

Have fun!!!!

Make sure you see the holiday presentation of Illuminations at Epcot. There's an added ending set to "Peace on Earth" that is really spectacular.

MVMCP is a must do also. It's the only way to see the Christmas parade (except if you are there the week before Christmas), and it is really great. Also, there is a special holiday version of Wishes that only plays on MVMCP nights.

Take the time to walk around World Showcase in Epcot and listen to the story telling by the various Santas in each country. Try to get to MGM at night to walk through the Osbourne Lights. It's quite amazing.

December is my favorite time to go to Disney!

Mmmmm.. Egg Nog... *smiles* sorry pregnant.

I think we will be spending Christmas next year at the World. I can't wait. I know the crowds are very heavy, but the last time we were down, it was for the 4th of July, so I guess it will just be something I am used to.

Take a day to resort hop to see all the different decorations at each resort!! MVMCP is a most! Christmas time is sooo magical at Disney!! Enjoy and have a great time!!
