I am trying to figure out the best Lunch for us on arrival day any tips? Our flight arrives in MCO at 11 am.

We are on the Deluxe dining plan. Once we get to our park of choice we do not want to leave it until we are ready to pack it in for the day. We plan on choosing a ts for supper at that park.

We are staying at POR and we do not have park hopper. We are willing to go to DTD or another resort beofre heading into the park. We think we will go to DHS for a park that day.

I looked at the lunch menus for all TS in DHS for lunch and they don't really interest us.

Thanks in advance!:cloud9:

If you go to DTD, Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express are good choices. Then you can go to Goofy's Candy Co. for dessert :)

What about one of the restaurants on the Boardwalk or at Yatch/Beach club, then you could take the boat to DHS.

Do you have a car? If so, I with dawnedwards- check out menus for the Boardwalk and Yacht/Beach Club hotels. That will give you plenty of options and you can take the Friendship ferry over to DHS. If you are relying on Disney transportation, that would make it more of a pain to get from POR to the other resorts (you'd have to go to DHS or another park first, then take a bus/ferry to the resort.)

We love Beaches and Cream for lunch- although we typically pay instead of using a dining credit since its cheaper. I don't think Flying Fish and Kouzzina are open for lunch.

What type of food are you looking for? We've eaten lunch at Sci-Fi, 50's PTC, Mama Melrose's, and Hollywood Brown Derby and really liked them? If not maybe Beaches and Cream? I think it would take a long time to get to your resort from MCO, get over to DTD, and get back to DHS.

Well I thought about Sci-fi...but we don't care for the idea of sitting separatly in the cars. Do they have a regular table that will work for a family of five? We like the lunch menu there but not the seating arrangments.

I was also going to suggest Sci-Fi...great burgers & shakes...the seating is fine with us...you'll all be in 1 car...but if that's a problem....50's Prime time is also alot of fun....love their Pot Roast and Smores for dessert. I'va always done mamamelrose at dinner time...i've never had a bad meal there yet. Brown Derby is delicious but requires 2 TS credits.

Downtown disney I really like Planet hollywood & Raglan Road...both are on the dining plan

We were planing on 50s Prime time for supper. I want to try the Salmon dish and its not on the lunch menu:scared:

The reason we don't like the car idea is we would have a harder time encouraging our kids to show proper table manners in that type of setting. Our older two are ADHD kids and we don't care to have things get out of control as it tends to have a snowball effect.:rotfl:

Does anyone know if they have regular tables there?

In addition to the regular "car" seating they have tables that kind of look like cars but are regular tables where you can all sit together. Just tell them when you check in that you'd like one of the regular tables. They'll be thrilled to give you one since everyone wants to eat in the "cars".

Have you thought about the Boardwalk restaurants? You could do ESPN or the brewery one? Don't those count as a TS but don't take ADR's? Then you wouldn't worry about making lunch at a certain time... especially on arrival day.

I would also second Wolfgang Puck Express. It's an expensive CS, it's a good value. It is a cross between CS and TS in that they will bring your food to you after you order and get your own drinks. You put the number at your table like Pei Wei, and they bring it based on that. A nice alternative to having to be somewhere at a certain time and being served. One of our favs, we always eat there.

I would not make an ADR for this meal, nor would I plan on going to DTD then DHS. There are no buses from DTD to the parks, so you would spend time doing a transfer after you eat. You never know about flight delays, taking time to check in, etc. I would either grab a burger/nuggets at the POR food court before heading to DHS, or use some of those snack credits for a snack at DHS. You'll have plenty, we had about 14 left after DxDP last year. Especially if you get an ADR for dinner that night!

I would try to book an early dinner at the Brown Derby at DHS. It takes 2 dining plan credits. I don't know if I'd plan an ADR for lunch as you don't know what time you will actually get to WDW. Plus you may want to freshen up a bit and then head over to the park.
