Recommend Grocery Store near AKV?

I'm staying at AKV Jambo in 2 weeks and will have a car. I'm planning on driving to the grocery store and google maps is showing a Publix, Walmart Super Center and Target Super Center close by. Can anyone recommend one over the other? They all are only 1-2 minutes difference in drives between them.

Personally I always use publix, (not the one near AKL) and find them to be very nice stores and competitive price wise, and I know the one near AKL also has and attached liquor store if needed.

As locals, we shop at Publix.

Another Publix shopper here. I like to go online and see the sales before the trip.

For liquor, I like the liquor store at Walmart on 535, the Publix liquor store at Xentury City, or any of the ABC stores. Oh, oh, looks like we do at WDW!

Another vote for Publix! When we stayed at AKV Kidani in July 2010 we shoppped at the nearby Publix and they had an excellent selection of items all at competitive prices. We'll be staying at BLT this July and we'll make a stop there again for our groceries.

Publix....

as you are heading to AKL, the last light before hit the entrance to AKL, you can only take a left, turn there....go to light on the main road, turn right...down a 1/2 mile or so is publix....or go to Target....it is a super Target, you will see it on the left....gresat selctions

Target has lots of Disney themed merchandise. We have picked up a number of items there. Publix does not.

As for the OP's question, we do our main grocery shopping at Publix but use Super Target for little things that we always seem to forget. We find th overall quality of produce, meats, prepared foods and bakery to be better at Publix.

Not to be contrary, but we always seem to gravitate to Target on 192 since it's so close. I never even noticed the Publix across the street from Target until we were pulling out from Target Sunday afternoon.

I guess since we don't have Publixes near us in NC and just aren't familiar with it, we seem to always just go to Target. Maybe we'll try Publix in Oct. It sound like the place to go.

Publix special desserts are amazing. I ordered one for DH's retirement celebration, and CG kept it cool, and helped us serve it (they can't). One time at the bakery we even saw special Disney CM's picking up a large sheet cake there!

And they have Boar's Head deli meats. I wish they Publix invaded further north into MA and CT!

If you make the right at Black Lake road, (just before light) you will miss all the lights and come to the same location one light away from Publix (right) or Target (left). With traffic on main road you can save a lot of time.

Is the Publix near AKV as nice as the one at Regency Village Shopping Center?

There is a brand new Publix in Watertower Plaza on 192 near Celebration. It replaced the Publix at Xentury City a few months ago. It is a slightly more upscale store than the Xentury City one and they have a great take-away section in their deli with a fantastic selection of freshly prepared hot foods, salads and other items. Basically use the same directions as going to Xentury City, but instead of turning left off of I-Drive South into the closed store, you'll continue to 192 and make a right. After the overpass, the Publix will be in the Watertower Plaza on the left.
