Morning all,

I have that Monday feeling, so lets talk cocktails!! :lmao: Specifically the DLP cocktails!

I've never had cocktails at DLP, but I'm aware that I'm seriously missing out!! For my next trip in March, we're eating in Planet Hollywood on the first night, and we're staying in Sequoia Lodge. So two obvious locations for cocktails (without doing a hotel-cocktail-crawl!).

I THINK after reading things on here that the cocktails offered in the hotels are the same regardless of which hotel (except for the prices!! :scared1: ). So can anyone recommend a DLP cocktail? I know it's down to personal taste - the only thing I'm REALLY against is whiskey flavours. :worried:

And Planet Hollywood - do they have their own selection of cocktails? Any recommendations for there??

Thanks all!

El Picante in the Santa Fe - €8 and very light and fruity - melon and raspberry flavour I think. Just like a tangler twister ice cream!

You can't possibly have cocktails at DLP and not have a glowtini!!
After a busy day in the parks it's heaven sitting in the redwood bar next to the fire with a glowtini! :) x

Sounds yummy! We're in the Santa Fe in October so might save that one for then!

Glowtinis are yummy!

I really enjoyed the Forest Edge...

Glowtinis are lovely - they consist of citrus vodka, pineapple juice and blue curacao and, of course, a flashing ice cube.

We also had a Lights and Colours in the New York bar last time. I can't remember what was in it exactly but it tasted like a fruit smoothie - lush! Oh and it also had a glow cube of course!

These & the one with violet extract in it.. oooh yum!! Good recommendation Jenny ::yes::

How have I only just noticed a cocktail thread?! Haha!!! It's my favourite pastime in Disney!!!

In Sequoia Lodge I always go for a Redwood (these I don't think are on the menu anymore but will still be made). Likewise in the Disneyland hotel no visit is complete without a Bacardi Royale (again, no longer on the menu but every cast member knows what this is).

When in the bar in hotel New York I like to go for a cosmopolitan or manhattan purely because it's in keeping with the theme.

Oh, I love 'cocktails around the lake' night on each trip! Already planning our cocktail bar-hop for March! Ha

Is there a Bar in Planet Hollywood? I.E. can you just go in for drinks or do you have to eat? I want IN on some of this cocktail action! :wave2:

There is a bar area although its not awfully appealing as its more a waiting area for diners waiting for their tables to be ready. They do have a selection of film themed cocktails though.
Those Bacardi Royales that Adam mentioned are a must try. Yes they are pricey but honestly best.cocktail.ever ::yes::

Wow thanks all! So I'm thinking Glowtini and Bacardi Royale so far! Bacardi Royales - are these ONLY available in the DLH??

Didn't fancy the sound of the one with violet in (don't like Parma violets so it's unlikely I'd like that!),

Whats in the Forests Edge??

Was I wrong then? Are there different cocktails in each hotel?!?! Argh! Thought they had the same selection! lol

They have just brought in a new cocktail menu, which appears to be the same for each of the hotels, just the covers and prices are different. But the bar staff are very good and can remember all the cocktails from the old menus, and in some cases some very old menus.

I always like to ask them for a recommendation. For example the Tequila Sunrise is no longer on the menu in the Santa Fe, but they are more than happy make one for you. Or any cocktail for you for that matter.

The annual DLP cocktail competition will be underway soon, so ask the CM for their entry, it's a great way to try something newly created.

Amazing. Thank you!

Well after reading this thread i think a hotel cocktail crawl is the only way to go!!!

We're there for four nights so 2 a night i think should get us round them all in time as well as Planet Hollywood and the RFC.

The Forest Edge and Glowtini Cocktails are a must from the look of it

Thanks for the info :)
