Could someone recommend a digital camera for me? My parents house burnt down earlier this year. Well they are finally getting back into the house this week and have been replacing things a little at a time. My mother wants me to research some camera choices for her to replace the one that was damaged in the fire. She used to have my old Sony cybershot which I totally HATED because the pictures were always burry no matter how still I was when I took the photo. I now have a Kodak Easyshare that I really like, but is a little bit big when I have to carry it. My mom needs something that is:

1. Easy to Carry
2. Easy to work
3. Takes excellent to good pictures
4. Price - Low to Moderate
5. Easy to transfer photos to her PC

Go to the nearest Bestbuy or Circuit City... look at the Canon cameras in your price range... those will be your best bang for the buck. You'll also get an idea of which is the right size for her.... You should be able to find a decent Canon Powershot int he 120-150 dollar range.... just realize the one downside to this camera will be it uses SD cards and not the pro sticks that the sony used... but if the house was burned down those cards might also be gone.

I second the Canon Powershot. Good little cameras.

I'll third that about the Canon's - definitely check them out at a big box store for handling size and ease of use. Canon uses SD cards but to me that's a plus - it plugs right into the PC
