Hello,

I'm hoping some of you can help me with some suggestions of where to stay near Disney. It's my wife, son, father and myself and we are looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom in the range of $135 a night. 2 br would be preferable but 1 would be ok too (dad would sleep on pull-out). 2 baths would be great as well but would need at least one that's accessible from the living room without going into the bedroom, which would need to be private, not just partial divider. Any help would be appreciated.

When are you going and what kind of amentities are you looking for (shuttle, pool, activities, etc)?

If you have a car then Windsor Hills or other subdivisions in the area would work for you. It's only 5 min from Animal Kingdom (more to the rest of Disney) You can get a 2 or 3 bedroom /2 bathroom condo or a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom townhouse for less than 135 a night depending on the season. The townhouse has a bedroom with bathroom downstairs for Dad and two bedrooms and bathrooms upstair. Also has a private splash pool just outside the living room patio doors. www.windsorhillsrent.com
There's also many others like this in the area: Emerald Island, Windsor Palms, Encantada, Grand Palms, Crestwynd Bay etc.
You can find owner's listings on vrbo.com:

Windsor Hills is #1 and all of Disney has pink markers.
If you don't have a car then you need to stay somewhere that has transportation available like Bonnet Creek which is also good even if you do have a car. The Vistana Resort is also nice.

Hawthorne Suites would meet your needs. I stay at the one Canada Avenue and it was nice clean. It have One or two bed suites at the hotel.

Thank you to all of you for the replies. We will be down there from 9/26 thru 10/3. We will have a rental car the whole time so transportation isn't an issue. I will take a look at the ones you have listed here. Thanks again

I second Wyndham Bonnet Creek!

The property literally borders Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and it's fairly new, with some towers still in construction. They have 3BRs, free shuttles to the Disney parks for when you may want to split up, activities and amenities for all ages, some rooms with fireworks views and the place is just beautiful. Late September is low season so finding a rental from a Wyndham owner ought to be pretty simple.

sept is definitely off season - so you can find a bargin.

that say know you don't want to even consider Disney - but you are going doing their free dinning. So would definitely price them.

they have 1 and 2 bedrooms in the DVC part. Since you are going in Sept and BLT would have opened in August you might find a bargin with Disney.

but it will definitely cost more.

Wyndham is a nice one.

Sheraton Vistana Resort is very close too - and it is fairly inexpensive

also buena vista suites are close

that say if you know anyone who owns a timeshares and trades thru RCI or II - that might be your best deal.

there were Wyndham Bonnett Creek timeshares for Sept - not too long ago - got one. my dates are Sept 27 - Oct 3.

Have I found a deal for you - Summer Bay for $299 for the WEEK! 3 day sale...

I was getting ready to post that you should definitely check out Bonnet Creek. I've stayed lots and lots of places in Orlando, but Bonnet Creek is going to be the first one that I make a return visit to because it was absolutely perfect for us. You can search on here for Ken Price. Several people have used him and been very pleased. I generally rent off ebay myself.

However, this Summer Bay deal is extremely good, and I would probably consider it myself. I'm pretty sure that everything I've read on here about Summer Bay was very good (you can do a search on here and find out lots more, I'm sure). Like Wendaeh said, it's only a 3 day sale, so you'll have to work fast! ;)
