Recomendations for special dinner?

I am headed to WDW in Oct. I am looking for someplace for a special date night with my DH. I looking into V&A but that isnot a option finacially. Can anyone give me some good places either on or off property that might be a good alternative.

On property California Grill, Jiko and Artist Point are all wonderful options for a special dinner and not nearly as pricey as V&A's. Off property we don't venture to much except a chain restaurant here and there, so I can't give any recommendations.

California Grill= Great food, great atmosphere,great service and an AWESOME view of the world.

The California Grill is a wonderful restaurant with a wonderful view! If you can book an ADR around the fireworks it is a truly magical experience! I also like Narcoossees, which would be a good bet if you like seafood. I think Narcoossees is a little more intimate and romantic and you can also see the fireworks from the restaurant.

I also love Jiko, it is my favorite signature restaurant food-wise. I love the menu and I like to go out and see the animals with the night vision goggles after the meal. Its also nice to get a drink at Victoria Falls either before or after the dinner.

If you are looking for a place that is more adult and has great food, I'd skip any of the places on Disney's dining plans and go to either Bistro de Paris or bluezoo. The food is better and most of the time, these places offer a much more intimate dining experience. Il Mulino is another choice but I don't think the food is quite as good there.

For those restaurants on the dining plan, we've had better luck at Citricos and Jiko for a quiet "special" meal.

we love Citricos--the food is always delicious, its quiet, and the service is wonderful! But I've heard great things about California Grill as well!

I'd at The Wave at CR and Flying Fish on The Boardwalk.

thanks for the suggestions i am trying to decide Citrosis menu looks good but I don't know if it will be DH taste though

The best food is either Jiko or Citricos. But as far as total experience, Cali Grill is best. Especially if you can get an ADR around the time of wishes.
