Reckless driver who killed 2 kids apprehended

Very tragic incident that happened less than one mile from my home. Sunday evening about 7 PM, a mom was walking with her 2 children and 2 neighbor kids and an out-of-control driver hopped the curb and struck the woman's 2 kids. Both children died. The woman driving the car fled the scene and had been on the run until last evening when she was picked up in San Jose. There is quite a memorial at the scene of the accident, with local TV news stations doing reports several times a day. I can't even imagine how those parents feel - to suddenly have your only 2 children taken in that way. It's really shaken our little town.

I am glad to hear that the woman was caught. I can't imagine going through the pain that mother is going through.

Min, did they say if the driver was experiencing medical problems?

MJ - so far, just the info the woman gave to a by-stander at the scene: she said that she was on medication. She is a well-known nanny who had worked for some SF newswomen. She specialized in twins & triplet care. She has numerous arrests for DUI & suspended licenses. She has worked here in the Bay Area for many years.

whoa.. kinda scary...... multiple DUI's and suspended Licenses.... and the woman is a nanny... and driving a Mercedes...... geez louise!

I wonder if she has a valid license at the time of this accident...??

I'm glad they caught her. How could she see that she hit two children and then just take off ??!! My heart goes out to the parents.

I am so thanksful that people in San Jose were paying close enough attention...That lady needs to be put away... Those children were just gorgeous and I fell so awful for her Mom who was right there

I live in San Jose and hadn't heard they caught her...does anyone know the circumstances of how they found her...or exactly where in San Jose?

They caught her last night about 5pm on 3rd street in downtown San Jose. She was coming out of a restaurant or store. Apparently they received and annonymous tip. Glad they caught her.

Those poor babies. I'll say a prayer for the family. I'm glad she was apprehended.

Oh that is so terribly sad! I can't even begin to imagine how that mother must feel, not only losing one child but both at the same time and seeing it!! I think I'd lose my mind entirely. I'm glad they caught the woman! I don't understand how she could hit and kill 2 small children and then flee!! This story just saddens me!!
