Recheck your alamo rates!

just for the heck of it, i rechecked my dates for feb26-mar6.
i was able to upgrade from midsize to full size and still save $20 from my original quote! my husband thinks i lie when i tell him things like this---he also thinks i'm nuts to constantly be on the computer checking into this stuff. but i guess it pays off!

Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what was your total and did you use any codes? We are also going to wdw from 2/26 - 3/6 and are looking for rental cars. I can relate with you about your husband. Mine is the same way. He says "I don't care, just book it!" But me being the bargain hunter, I'm going to get the best rate I can!!!

my dates are 2/25-3/6. i used sam's club code and coupon for a free day and the total came out to about $223 for the full size. this is the best rate i've come up with for any of the in terminal car rental agencies using every code i've found.

Just checked and saved $20 more than originally booked in November using Costco rate code with Alamo both times. Cost in November for a full size (with taxes) for 10 days - $278, this morning, $260.

FYI, there was a article in last week's Wall Street Journal regarding this. Keep checking!

Thanks for the head's up!!! I just got our original rate down $25. Started @ $211 for a fullsize for 8 days, we are now at $187 for 8 days. We are two weeks out, so I will still have time to check, and re-book.

I've got Alamo booked with rack rate for 9/2004, and the base rate is $214 for 10 days. Whenever I attempt to use a code, I get a rate HIGHER than what I'm getting without the code. I tried the BJs code, which is the only one good for my dates. Am I doing something wrong?

I checked Alamo with BJ's code and coupon from their site and got $140.03 total with taxes for a full size for the week Jan 18-Jan 24. This was down from $176.13 with their code, not coupon a couple of months ago. This is the cheapest I've ever gotten a rental car in FL.

Snacky-go to their site (BJ's) and print out the coupons. Be careful where you enter the information. I got a different price when I misentered the code/coupon #. Also, on my ressie above, I used the 1 free day and saved 22 $ on the week.
