Reception location advice... Please!

As of right now, DF and I are planning on LSS, however, I've always wanted to have my wedding reception in a space with a TON of natural lighting! While Ballrooms are gorgeous, they tend to not have all that much natural light and I've always wanted something different (which is partially why we chose Disney) We are expecting 50-60 peeps so Whitehall and the Attic are unfortunately out. We are planning on a morning ceremony with a brunch/lunch so unfortunately the countries in Epcot are out.... Does anybody have any suggestions? If you have any pics and/or info, it would be greatly appreciated!!! TIA

Thanks ladies for the suggestions! I'm looking into those locations and trying to get as many pics as possible! Does anybody have any info on the Grand Floridian Cafe? I heard it's nice but don't know if it's large enough to accommidate a wishes reception. Thanks again!

I'm having mine at Ariel's after our noon ceremony. My parents were down there a few months ago and took tons of pictures during the day. It looked beautiful and like there's a ton of natural light! I would definitely check it out!

Why are the countries at Epcot out? Is that a personal choice or did they tell you this? Originally I was going to get married in France and walk over and have my reception in Italy from 9:30 to 2. I also would check ariel's but I think it is not being used after a certain time next yr? Can someone verify this?

i thought you could only have your reception in the countries after the park closed, unless it is in the AAR or LSS or Bistro de Paris.

We are having ours at Ariel's at the Beach Club but in the Fall of 2009 there is a cut off date I believe Sept/Oct - because they will be converting the location to a grab & go and no longer will be a reception/convention site.

Things do change though you could always ask.

If you want natural lighting I would go with Cali Grill. The view is beautfiul and there is a ton of natural lighting..you are surounded by windows lol.

Yeah GFC is not good....although I don't think they would do a wedding reception there anyway.

No, you can have a reception in one of the countries right after your ceremony. I am assuming that they rope it off like a dessert party. I think DWPromise was having her reception in Italy which was either yesterday or today, I think. We just chose to go with the Attic because you cannot have amplified sound so we would have to go with a Disney musician.

No, you can have a reception in one of the countries right after your ceremony. I am assuming that they rope it off like a dessert party. I think DWPromise was having her reception in Italy which was either yesterday or today, I think.

They've stopped offering Italy Plaza as a reception location for the time being. They may be trying to get away from having private events in World Showcase during park hours (although they're still doing a booming business in dessert parties, but maybe they prefer to have keep special events toward the beginning and end of park hours...)

The date has been pushed back - Ariel's is now available until Sept. 2010.
