Hi everyone! I'm new to the boards and so excited for the friendly and helpful advice. Does anyone have a strong recommendation for a reception venue in Disney? I feel the options are endless and I was hoping someone could let me know if there is a place I should highly consider over another. Thanks!

You came to the right place and you are right there are many options for your reception. I suggest going to Disney's Wishbook feature on their website. It gives images and detailed descriptions of each site they offer. It's free to sign up for.

The decision depends on the number of guests you are expecting and then what you vision is of your day. My fiancee and I knew we wanted our reception in a park and had to fit 100 guests. Based on that we decided on the Living Seas Lounge.

Hope you can make your decision! It's so much fun!

It totally depends on your guest list, your vision and your budget. If you are thinking park, there are so many cool places. Obviously the castle at MK would be perfect, although it is quite costly and I've heard that they have temporarily stopped using it as an option. If you have a small group, an illuminations reception...my personal favorite, but I could not afford it, was the American Pavilion in Epcot--it is so Americana Royal. There's a couple of brides that have posted very cool stories about places in MGM. Living Seas is a beautiful location--but I think 76 is the max attendance there. A lot of the park locations (not living seas) dictate what times you can use them, and that can be a bit of a downer depending on who's on your guest list. We had three very special flower girls and we didn't want to ruin the night with cranky sleepy girls...

My dh and I ended up choosing hands down the Atlantic Dance Hall at our site visit. We were SO pleased and still contend it is THE place to do it there. It was so nice and needed little as far as decorating. They do a great "secret" entrance when they announce you. We got to watch the fireworks from the balcony over Epcot. Afterwards our guests walked the boardwalk, rented bikes on the boardwalk, walked over to Fantasia mini golf, or went with us to the Adventurer's Club at PI. We were so very happy with our choice.

Tell us more about your estimated guest list (I know how hard that is!) and your vision and budget?

Thanks so much for your help! We just decided to have the reception at the Boardwalk and I couldn't be more excited. I'm looking for pictures of the receptions at that location if you have any suggestions.
