We will be having a small wedding ceremony In Orlando (not Disney) this spring and were trying to come up with ideas of what to do after the ceremony as a reception for 10-15 people. Where would you suggest we have a meal and what could we do after for something fun?

Thanks!!

Hello Roo,
I got married in Florida in 2003, and we had a nice catered dinner reception at the house we rented out by the pool. We ended up getting married out by the pool as well. We hired a Disney Minister who brought a photographer with him. It was small and casual but great!
Let me know if you want any of the info I have from our wedding.
Oh and Congrats on the wedding! :goodvibes :goodvibes

We really enjoy the Japanese Hibachi style restaurants where you all sit around the table as the chef prepares your meal. There are several in the Orlando area and there is a pretty good one in EPCOT.

Many of the rental home communities have club houses. You may want to look into something that route. Or possibly look into booking a small reception room at someplace like the Gaylord Palms-- I could only imagine they'd have spectacular photo op's.

there is a nice garden - closer to Orlando than WDW -

I don't remember - I will get back to you.

The Samba Room has a private room, or there is also an area where they will put up mosquito netting around your table, in the main dining area, if you like to see & be seen but still want some privacy.

The food here is pretty good; the neighborhood is nice (Dr. Phillips), and the restaurant offers salsa lessons on Fridays at 10 pm, and has a live Latin band on Saturdays at 10, if you would like some evening entertainment. Great fun!

Cheers!

Fultan's crab house in Downtown Disney rents a room. Just a thought :-)

I was thinking the DTD hotels and nearby hotels would have less expensive rates on rental facilities than Disney property itself.

I got wayyyy to caught up in researching it. So I'm making myself stop now!! but here's one link before I stop ;-)

You know, that's a GREAT idea!! :thumbsup2

When we ate at Mama Della's (Universal's Portifino Bay Hotel) in July, there was a wedding party in a seperate room. It looked they they were having a great time. The food at MD's is wonderful & the portions are quite large. Just another place to consider. :) Congrats!!!

Thanks everyone for the great ideas! I was actually thinking maybe Fultons Crab House as it came up one of the most romantic restaurants when I did a search. Does anyone know what the inside is like? (I couldn't find any pictures).

Thanks again!
