I was wondering if you can purchase a drink package for the entire reception? Do you have to pay for the soda package and an alcohol package also? or do they have something all inclusive? What are the package prices?

If I am reading my paperwork correctly, the package bars include soft drinks, juices, water and different alcohol options. If I remeber correctly my wedding coordinator said that we would just do the soft drinks, juices and waters for the children, then the alcohol pkg for the adults. Hope this helps!

If you do a package it includes soda and alcohol. We chose not to do the package and instead do bill on consumption. It was a good choice in the end as we didn't nearly spend as much as we would have if we paid for the package and we had alot of drinkers. We actually got money back in the end from disney.

how does the bill on consuption work?? we are not sure what to do as we have around 30 and if we were getting married in the uk we would have a bar where guest pay but we are not sure if disney does this

Bill on consumption is you pay for each drink. I think you can chose to just have softdrink and cash bar but you would have to pay for the bartender. You might want to take into considerations that your guest are traveling far to be with you and spending lots of money, if you you decide on a cash bar, depending on you guest it could offend some people that they have to put out even more money.

we are still in early stages so its something we have not thought about this yet but i saw the post and thought i could get an idea of what it involves

We looked at several different options and decided the beer and wine bar was for us, heres why it suited us -

Cash Bar - We decided that our family were using their holiday time and spending thousands to come to our wedding. I decided that if i had done that to go to someone elses wedding and then had to pay for a drink i wouldnt be happy.

Billed on Consumption - we looked at this and then looked at the prices for each drink. For example a glass of wine was $5.75 plus a 20% service charge and 6.5%tax. Worked out at $7.20 per glass. Say 1 drink per hour per person and that would be $32.40 per adult for the 4 1/2 hours of my bar.

We then looked at the Beer and Wine bar and decided this was the best option for us. The Beer and wine package incudes the soft drinks.
For the 4 1/2 hours Beer and wine for the 19 Adults and Soft Drinks for the under 21's it worked out at $854.35 including the service charge and tax. That worked out at $32.85 per person roughly.

As it was an evening reception i know alot of my family drunk alot more than 4 glasses in those hours! Not to mention the kids who got a drink, left it on the side and ended up getting another drink. Wouldnt have been too happy if i was paying!

We also saved on the toast by using the drinks everyone had to toast with instead of paying for the champagne toast.

Laura- how many were at your wedding?? i guess when you look at it like 4 glasses and thats it paid i guess it does work out better to do that. Does that include the reception and the dessert party as well??

I just edited my post to include more info!

No my dessert party was extra that was $12 per person for the hour.

You get Tea coffee and lemonade included in the dessert party price though i think!

thanks for that, i just dug out the paperwork that heidi sent me about the bars so i will make sure i look into that, i dont drink at all so its hard for me to think of spending that much on drink but i'm sure it would be nice for us to pay for it.

I will also check out the inclueded drinks for the dessert party as well cos then we would not get a bar for that hour as we are planning on going back to the hotel and drinking anway

Thanks for the info! I have a question though... are there any packages that include mixed drinks like mojito's or daquiris and not just beer and wine? The problem with that is I don't like beer or wine and I want to be able to drink something at my wedding! lol... I know one of my friends just got married and they did two signature drinks that you could get (electric lemonade and mango margaritas) as well as beer and wine. Does Disney offer anything like this and if not, can you get the standard beer and wine package and then have a cash bar type system for any other types of drinks?

Thanks in advance for any input on this!!! :goodvibes

zeta- i just noticed your wedding date!! we are after 2nd sep and we are flying over on the 28th aug so we will be there for your wedding! I hope you get the date you want!!

How cool!!! :goodvibes I want to go to out to Pleasure Island on the night of 29th so maybe I'll see you there!;)

I think that if you have a lot of drinkers, maybe you should go for the package that allows all the alcohol you want. That's want my DF and I are doing for our wedding her at home. We thought about a cash bar, but alot of people get offend for that, especially when they're traveling from out of town!

I would just look at your guest list and figure out how many drinkers and how many "drinkers" you have!! I know in my family we have alot drinkers so I'm already expecting a high bill!!:rotfl2: But, if it makes everyone have a good time and enjoy themselves, then have at it!!
