a great tip i learned from here is to pack some room service sandwiches and take w/you on your port days for excursions. this was a wonderful tip and worked great for our family, w/ 2 little ones.

i just read a thread about bringing food off the ship, and it's a no-no at a eastern caribbean port. (we did western) anyways, my question is...are there just laws regarding taking food off the ship for the mexican ports for the west coast cruises? anyone who's been on the west coast cruises, did you bring food off the ship, and were there people checking? i'm just curious, since i do plan on taking some snacks (sandwiches/chips/fruits/) w/us when we get to port...just in case. (i know, they sell food at the ports...but w/our little picky eaters...)

anyways...any thoughts/info would be greatly appreciated!! thank you! :flower:

Cabo was the only port I remember then checking our bags when we came in to the port...they take fresh fruit away (we had friends w/some in their bag) but leave other stuff (I had cereal boxes from the breakfast lines).

We took the PBJ sandwiches (Smuckers sealed package) form the ship into Mazatlan. The other family that we were with took turkey sandwiches. Room service notified us that we were not allowed to take food off the boat, but no one checked. I agree that fruit would be a bad idea.
