In just a few days we'll be off to our first fall visit to The World.

I'm looking at the 10 day forecast and it isn't pretty. 30% or more chance of rain (scattered and isolated thunder storms) every day.

Can someone tell me what a storm is like this time of year? Is it the same thing that happens in the summer where at 4:30 sharp the skies open up for a deluge and 15 minutes later it's done and all goes back to normal quickly?

I can't answer your question. However, I wanted to give you my thoughts on the 10 day forcast. When we went 9/12-9/22. The forcast before I left was 75% chance of severe thunderstorms everyday. However, we only had ran 2 days and they were over in about an hour.

Your forcast may be correct, but I just wanted to let you know for us, it was not.

Just back - I went from October 8-15, and also on the 19th and 20th. It rained a total of three days our of nine, for about 10-20 minutes total for the days that it did rain. I think the forecast was similar to yours ("chance of isolated/scattered showers") but I never pulled out my poncho once (I ducked into an attraction or restaurant, and the rain showers were over very quickly).

I've also had trips this time of year where it rained almost every day, but have only experienced a couple of days during my many trips where it rained all day long. I was at WDW in 2005 for Hurricane Wilma, and that was the most rain I remember (and that lasted only 24 hours).

We had the same chances of rain 30% to 40% and the most we got was a moderate shower in the afternoon 2 days. Luckily we missed it both times. The first we were at a late lunch and the second, it started to drizzle and so we ducked into the CS at Morocco for dinner, it lasted maybe 10 minutes and cooled it off wonderfully for illuminations.

We went in Sept. and our 10 day said rain everyday. We were begging for rain. It was so HOT and HUMID. It started to rain once when we were at Beauty and the Beast. My husband went out to stand in the rain to cool off. It stopped before he got out there and we wre right by the exit. Sometimes rain can be a good thing.
