We'll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside 8/8-8/15. I was wondering how the bus service has been lately? Any suggestions for which stop to catch the bus? Is is always standing room?

Also, what about the boat to Downtown Disney?

We leave in three days - Wellllll almost three days to be technical. We will be there for a week, and will only be using WDW transport for everything but the trek to and from the Resort / airport. I will post something the week of the 29th on everything, including transportation.

We've stayed at POR 5 times and have never had huge transportation problems. We always try to catch the bus at the South depot, by the main building. However, we had no problems this past May catching buses at the East depot (last stop). However, POFQ was still closed, so we didn't catch their traffic. The only bus nightmare we've ever experienced was a Saturday night last June (2001) at MK right after the park closed. Sometimes the buses fill up quickly, but usually another isn't too far behind if you don't want to stand. We'll be there 8/1-8/5, so I can post more soon.:D

We stayed the first week in June and never had a problem, except leaving the parks at closing. But, its SRO for every resort!

Thanks for the info. I'll be anxiously awaiting the updates from TWOOD and Lainy67. Hope you have great trips!

Anyone used the boat transportation between Port Orleans and Downtown Disney lately? How has it been?

Just got back from 2weeks at POR...7/6 - 7/20 .. The buses were great and really the only time we stood was going home at night from the parks...sometimes we would wait for the next bus just for a seat..usually 5min wait. The boat to Downtown was great!..Except...both my kids got alot of mosquito bites on the way back!!.... Hope this helps

Thanks for the info, sounds like the transportation is pretty good. I will pack bug spray for the boat ride!

We leave in 48 hours, any last minute input -- bus crowds? --wait time? -- seats available or standing room only? -- how about the return trip to the resort after park closing? Also, is it best to catch the bus at the South Depot in the morning, or has service been acceptable at the other depots as well.
