I'm looking for some realtime info on fares in the last few mths (or booked for this summer) between Hartford and Orlando. Has anyone been able to secure anything below $99???? If so, was it a ding? weekly internet special? Were you travelling midweek??

I see fares for my time periodin Oct have dropped to $99 but I'm traveling Wed -Tues and I really thought I might get something in the $69 range. I know it's a guessing game :confused3 but what do you think??? These fares originally posted at $116, increased to $129 and are now at $99.

Thank you!!!!

I'd be happy with those fares. PIT-MCO for the flights I wanted in June are almost $400 roundtrip.

We are flying BDL to MCO in August. Nothing under $99.00. To MCO was $116 and that price hasn't change. Our return was $129.00 and the last time I checked it was $149.00. I'm still hoping the prices will come down and we'll get a credit.

Just looked again and our return is now up to $156.00

Thanks for the input. I'm really surprised. When we flew last Nov. (day after Thanksgiving) fares were really high. I booked our RT at $330pp (ouch!) Then, the mth before we were traveling, fares started to decrease, and I rebooked at $180RT pp!!! And that was flying during a peak travel period.

I know we don't get great deals out of Hartford any more, but it just seems to me, flying Wed - Tues in early Oct...if ever there was a chance of low fares, it would be then. Seems to me SW has been promoting a lot of $49 and $69 fares (though never our of Hartford) I guess I'm just going to sit tight and hope it will come down for us. This is going to be a real nailbiter!

We fly out of BDL all the time and have never been able to get the great rates advertised. We are actually using Delta since, for our trip they were better than SW. The flight times were much better too for non-stop. The only place around here to get a good deal is out of White Plains on Jet Blue.

I got a $79 fare from bdl to mco for july 14 - 22. It was just on their website, no ding. The rate then went up to $116 but today it was $99. They just had a ding for june and it was $99. I think you pay more going out of bdl. If you can get $99 I would grab it. If a ding does come along, you can also rebook and then have the credit to use at a later time (or a family member could use the credit).

We're at $250 :scared1: for r/t a Tues to a Wed at the end of August. I am NOT happy with that price. I booked the day they came out. They are direct flights. I'm praying they go down and we get some credit to use on our next trip.

I saw the $99 each way rate today too from BDL to MCO and I am going to book it for late Sept. If it drops I'll just use the credit for our Spring 2010 trip. I just paid a bit more for the trip that I took down there last week.

$99 is a good price.

And after posting here I went to check my flights and they went down $17 each way! Yay, they were $99 thats more what I had expected them to be released at. So thanks for giving me a reason to check!:thumbsup2

As of today the price for a round-trip non-stop out of BDL is $199 (including tax and fees) on Delta (Northwest). That is the cheapest it has been in a long time. Southwest has a round trip non-stop for $279 when their homepage says fare for $49.

I live in CT. and I used to fly out of BDL. I have switched norw to HPN (White Plains, Westchester). I live in Milford and the drive is almost the same. Booked flights to MCO for August for $59.00 each way on Air Tran. Great deals if you switch airports :)

Unfortunately that won't work forus. We live right near Bradley Airport.

My sil once decided to go a bit cheaper and fly out of RI. It was a Feb trip and the flight home had to make a change in plans and land prior to reaching Providence. Guess where they landed???? CT!!! LOL They then asked my dh to drive his brother back to Providenc the next day (after digging out from the snow) to p/u their car!

I'm not a gambling type of gal...and this wait is going to kill me b/c I don't feel like the trip is "final" until I have the airfare booked...but I'm sticking it out and waiting for fares < $99. I really think it will happen for midweek travel. Tues and Wed are such slow travel days. :rolleyes1 Oh man....I hope this pays off! I'd book and use the credit next year but I know we won't travel again before Oct 2010 and probably not until 2011. sigh

we booked BDL to MCO in January for June 13th- 22nd, $79 down $89 coming back. We originally booked at $99 coming back but saw the price drop and called SW and got price change. We now have $30 credit. I have never used Ding!. Just kept checking prices a few times a day.:surfweb:

Oh thanks! That's just what I'm hoping for!!!

THANK YOU for posting that the fares went down BDL-MCO. I had booked just a flight down at $116 , hoping that they would come down. So after seeing the post this morning, I rebooked the flight down $99 (2 fares saving $34) and then used the credit to book our flights back. Anytime I can save, I do it.

If the fares come down again or I get a DING at some point, I will then use it to book my flight for the Disney marathon in Jan or the Princess Half in March.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE :lovestruc Southwest. It's such a game.

But oh how I miss those $49 each way dings. Sigh.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Glad it worked out for you. Love the quote in your signature!!! Funny thing today, we went to a couple of tag(yard) sales and one was at this BEAUTIFUL house. We all fell in love w/ it and the landscaping. Like Snow White & the dwarfs' little cottage in the woods. My son said "Hey Mom, if we skip a couple of Disney trips could we buy this?" LOL

I really appreciated you bringing the fact that the BDL-MCO rates had dropped. I was off from work on Friday and couldn't check. Most appreciated!!

Should you change your signature to "heigh ho heigh ho" if you bought that house? ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Kris, now on the hunt for a good car rental rate for Sept.

You have no idea.... When I was in college and mid 20's I often dressed as Snow White for Halloween Parties!!! I had "her look".

This may be an option for me. I live in Berkshire County in Mass. My only concern is the $59 flight leaves at 7:30 am on the day I go, and arrives at 4:30 in the afternoon.:confused3 that's quite a layover.

My problem with airtran is that you pay the $7 seat assignment each way and $15 1st bag fee each way. It ends up being about the same as the SW fare anyway and thats for 1 bag!:confused3
