We will be arriving late on the night of December 18(around 11:30 PM). We are staying in a 1 bedroom at BWV. I am worried about getting a handicapped accessed or smoking room. I have two small children and it would make for a miserable vacation(and ds and I both have asthma). I've never had the problem with them trying to give me a h/a room at BWV, for some reason both times I've stayed at BCV they've tried to give us h/a rooms (after much, much, begging, and yes, I was nice about it, lol, they moved us). I'm worried since I know so many people check in on Sunday that when we check in nothing will be left. I have non-smoking and requested a tub through MS, but when I got my confirmation it only showed non-smoking. Do they just not show when you request a room with a tub?

I know things are sometimes different than what the "Polices" are, so I'm wondering what people have noticed lately....are the rooms preassigned? Should I try to call ahead of time to make sure it is on the reservation for a tub?

Thanks~

Jennifer

All I can suggest is that you make sure you find out which rooms at BWV are HA and which aren't before you go. BWV was the one place that when I asked if ours was HA, the CM just pretended she didn't hear me-and you guessed it, it was! It was also a 1 BR, #2048, I think.

Doesn't a HA 1 bedroom have the same kind of tub (the jacuzzi)? The shower is different (curtain instead of glass), but the tub is the same as non HA?

I didn't think about that DebbieB...the time we were put in one at BCV it was a two bedroom and the shower/not really a tub was like a walk in little room, which was for rolling wheelchairs in. I hadn't thought about the layout being different at BWV. I was afraid to suggest getting a Non-handicapped room because I was afraid someone would see the "handicapped" part and put us in a handicapped room(that probably makes no sense, but my logic usually makes no sense, lol)

Did your 2 bedroom HA at BCV still have the jacuzzi tub? The layout at BWV is pretty much the same as BCV.

Here are some pictures of a non-HA bathroom:

Again, I think just the shower is different in a HA, you still have the separate tub. I would call the front desk on your day of arrival and let them know of your late arrival and your needs. Anytime I have stayed at BWV, our room was pre-assigned (last time 12/04).

Make sure your ressie states non-smoking for medical reasons. They will block your room out - sometimes up to 5 days in advance, or so I was told.

As for the non-HA - I assume if they block out the room, they will take notice of that request. I would email MS and ask if it shows on your ressie.

If I were in your situation (getting in so late), I'd just stay somewhere else that night and check in the next morning.

Best wishes -

In addition to making your non-smoking request Medical, you might really limit your other reqests. If you also ask for a particular floor and a particular view and a particular distance from the elevator, well, something's gotta give and sometimes it's your NS request.

I would also inform MS that you will be a late arrival. We arrived late on a Friday night and needed non-smoking, non HA. I voiced my worry to MS and the agent on the other line suggested that she place a note in the ressie that we were a late arrival.

I got non-smoking and non-handicapped after 9pm at night. I don't know if I was lucky, if this note worked or what.

Although I have to say, I have never gotten a HA room either. Good luck.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I am going to call MS tomorrow, and I'll also call the dr to have him fax me something official to have with me just in case they need it. I don't care if I'm the last room on that LONG hallway, lol, I just don't want it to be a smoking or h/a room!
