I got the new pin card offer in the mail a couple weeks ago. The one that ends 9/30. Wondered if anyone has used it to get some good rates at any of the hotels, and if you don't mind sharing, what kind of rate did you get?

Also the pin card has my address, but my mother-in-law's name on it. Anyone know how I can change this...??

Hey amyamya,

Pin cards are specific to the person they were sent to. If the pin card has your mother-in-law's name on it she'll have to be the one that checks in and shows her ID. They won't accept anyone else using it.

Last year I received the PIN offer that was floating around in the summer, which covered dates all the way to mid-December, if I recall. It came to MY e-mail address, and when I spoke to a CM in Reservations, all the info they had on file (address, phone #, etc.) associated with this PIN offer and e-mail address was MY onfo, except for one important thing - the NAME on the offer was my friend's name!! There was no reason for them to be sending things to my friend's name at my e-mail address or home address, as she had never made a reservation, paid a bill, etc. I did all of that. SO how did they get my friend's address? Well, the one time I booked through the WDTC, the CM on the phone was supposed to be making a note of who my guest was going to be and I gave them my friend's name...which they promptly entered into the wrong field and logged her as being the one who was making the reservation and not my guest. Once they get her name in the system in the wrong field, their system automatically recognizes the name as being someone who has booked a room at one of the hotels. I called about 3 different Disney phone numbers, asking them to take my friend's name off of my info - she does not live here; she does not receive e-mail at my e-mail address or mail at my home; she has nothing to do with my address; she has never booked a room and it is not going to do her or me any good if I get PIN code offers with her name on them.

All of the people at the different numbers I called told me they had "no way" to change the info in the system and put the correct name (mine) with the rest of MY information. I reminded them that they were sending out "wasted" PIN offers because if I can't use the ones they send me because they put the wrong name in the system and my friend couldn't use it because it has MY contact info attached to it, then what good does it do anybody? One Reservations CM put me on hold and went to ask her supervisor if I would be able to book with this PIN under my friend's name and they finally agreed - as long as my friend was with me when I checked in. But they would not correct the name that they entered incorrectly. They claimed they had no way to do that. So every DLR PIN offer I get now seems to have my friend's name on it. Arrrrgggghhhhh.

I have two current discount offers - a PIN code offer and a SoCal discount that just came in the e-mail today - but I am not sure if either of those would be better than just using the AP for a good rate.

Thanks for your responses. Sherry, I remember the pin code deal last year where a lot of people were getting cards with mixed up names and addresses and I thought someone was able to fix it and book at the discount rate. It is SO frustrating that her name is on my info! When we went I made the reservation and did everything but she was a guest in another room attached to ours so somehow we are lumped together. I was just curious what the discounted rates are throughout the year...

I remember your trip from last year very well! (Some folks' trips stick out in my mind.) You used the senior discount when you all stayed at GCH last Fall, correct? So Disney must have procured your mother-in-law's name - much like they did with my friend's name - and locked her in as being at your address, as they did with me and my friend. And later you got caught in the scary mob of people on Main Street when they weren't letting anyone escape through the short cut in the shop next to Carnation. I even thought of you when I was back at DLR in December, remembering your ordeal. Even though we didn't run into those same mobs, thankfully (I think it was just good timing and we missed them), I was kind of sizing up the Carnation area where the shops are because I was afraid we would get caught in a mob like that when the light show on Main Street and the snow happened, so I was trying to look for an alternate escape route - JUST IN CASE!

I am assuming that if the incorrect person on your DLR hotel 'account' does not make a reservation of her own, in her name, using all your contact info for the next couple of years or so, and you do make another reservation with your name at your address, the system will probably eventually flush out your mother-in-law's name, almost sort of like you are starting all over getting in their database. I was getting a lot of e-mails in my friend's name - which was irritating me, because you never know if the next CM in Reservations will allow me to book using that PIN code like they did in October or not - but when I registered for my birthday thing, I noticed I began to receive more e-mails in MY name. So hopefully, they have gotten rid of my friend's name. Whatever the case, they al told me they had no way of changing the name in the system - which seems a little odd.

Is there any chance your mother in law will be going with you on your next trip - just in case you have to use 'her' PIN discount??

Last year, there were different discounts floating around (PIN and online, if I recall) up until about mid-December. So I wonder if they will start circulating some new PIN offers once the September 30 date on the current one passes. That is really the season I am interested in - between early October and mid-December!

Yes! That is exactly what happened.

Yeah, that was me, too! Crazy! I was reading Molly's TR about how after the fireworks it took them 100 years to get down Main Street and had to laugh. I'm going to skip parades and fireworks for awhile...

NO!! Let's leave it at that!

Interestingly enough I am the one that has paid for and booked all of our trips to Disneyland but my Mom was the one that received a pin code, the last few times. This time I finally did, But I finally called and complained is why I think I got it.

We used last year's PIN code to book a room at the DLH for $159.00 in October.

We have reservations for the GCH for $259.00 in August this year also using a PIN code.
