Recent Nine Dragons Reviews?

Hello Disney travelers, has anyone dined at the Nine Dragons Restaurant recently? I am a little put off by bad reviews. This would be for my inlaws 50th Anniversary with 14 people in attendance. We are trying to stick in the $$-$$$ price bracket and want to dine in Epcot so we can watch the parade afterwards. I thought the Chinese restaurant would perhaps be symbolic for wishes of good luck but I certainly don't want all of us to go there if the food will be bad Thanks for any comments!

We were there a few months ago. The food was ok, not great, but nothing any different than we could get at any of our local Chinese restaurants. In fact I think our local restaurants offer more menu choices.

Bottom line is we didn't think Nine Dragons was bad, just not anything special. We probably won't return anytime soon, but only because we can get Chinese food in abundance at home.

We were there for lunch a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it. We live in NYC and have our choice of great Chinese restaurants any day of the week. My extremely picky DS even tried dishes that he won't try at home and is still raving over them. We had eaten here on the spur of the moment and were very pleasantly surprised after all the negative reviews I had read.

Thanks so much for your comments Jarestel and Lorik. Hubby's family has always celebrated big moments in the family's history (graduation, birthday's, etc.) with Chinese dining for prosperity. Seems like things are okay to good as of now, I just hate to go and spend the $$ if the family will not be satisfied. Lori I like your remarks much better lol

We dined at Nine Dragons this summer and had a really good meal. It was actually one of the best meals of the entire trip.

We have on our list to return again this December.

I dined at Nine Dragons in April and I thought it was OK. The Ma Po Tofu dish was wonderful, but I was less impressed with the appetizer and salad I ordered. I think it's probably best to try something out of the ordinary here, since the prices are kind of out of whack for some of the more basic items that you could get at any local Chinese restaurant. (I hope that made sense........)

Sadly, the parade that used to be at Epcot- "Tapestry of Nations/Dreams"- is long gone. Illuminations, the nighttime show on the lagoon is FANTASTIC and well worth the time.

Yes, there is no parade in Epcot anymore =( But Illuminations is wonderful and our fave nighttime event at WDW!!!

We are having lunch at Nine Dragons next week - I hope we have a good exp, we've never been, and I'll be sure to post a review!

My DS (15) and I had dinner at Nine Dragons in June. It had been many years since we had been there and I also read mixed reviews. I can honestly say we LOVED their food. I had some kind of white fish (very big piece) with a wonderful sauce. They have a lot of what other Chinese restaurants have, but they also have a number of different dishes if you look over the menu closely. Absolutely wonderful meal and great service. Can't wait to back again the next trip. Nine Dragons is now on our MUST DO list!

we ate at nine dragons a few weeks ago on the free dining plan. the food was delicious, very tastey. there are plenty of chinese restaurants around here, this was up there with one of the best. the restaurant itself is nice too.

Wow, thanks so much for your comments folks. I am feeling much better abut the restaurant choice now, and it's not too pricey. I think I'll call tomorrow to make the resrvations
