We are staying off property in a few weeks, and would like to have my sons do the mouse boats if possible one day (we will have a rental car.) Do they still rent them at Downtown Disney? I looked and I think they are maybe called star raycers now? My sons are 9 (100 pounds) and 12 (150 pounds.) Could the 12yo drive the 9yo? Or would I have to take them separately? Does anyone know the current price? Thanks for your help.

They are called Sea Raycers and they are available at the DTD marketplace :)

It says under TIPS & FUN FACTS on the right sidebar:
Guests must be at least 12 years old and at least 5 feet tall to drive a Sea Raycer. At Magic Kingdom® area resorts, at least one person in the boat must have a valid driver's license. There is a maximum combined weight of 320 lbs permitted for a Sea Raycer, or 2 passengers. All drivers under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian sign a release.

Don't forget to wear life vests, which are provided.

I think all the info you're looking for is here:

hth!

Thanks. Yes, I saw that page, too. I just am not sure if Downtown Disney counts as a Magic Kingdom "area"...why would they require a licensed driver at one place and not another? It just seems to be worded funny to me, but I may just be reading it wrong. Also is not clear to me even if 12yo can drive it, would they let him take my 9yo, too, for the 2 passenger limit, or would I have to take the little one? I think I am overthinking it.
