I keep reading how unexpectedly large the crowds at WDW have been in the last couple of weeks. Have they been bigger than normal at Universal/IOA as well?

Just some some photos of Universal last week. It was very crowded.

Since I work there Im there almost every day, It hasn't been as bad as disney but its not slow either.

I was at universal twice in the past week an it was pretty busy at universal. Much more than we are used to lol. But Disney was a lot busier too.

We were there last week and it definitely wasn't as busy as WDW, but it was busier than expected.
We were there at opening though so we managed to get everything we wanted done pretty early and spent the afternoon wandering around and enjoying the atmosphere rather than stressing about rides!

we were there 4 days this week, & pretty dead. ( at least I thought)
MIB was walk ons yesterday was really dead.
so was mummy & everything but dispicable me, was slow.

friends were with us wends, & they insisted on going in the morning to FJ:scared1:

really........ 90 minutes

afternoons are pretty much walk ons, 25 min or less. was at 15 this afternoon.

I was there last weekend and thought it was pretty busy for this time of year.

We were there Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This was our first time at Universal, but we go to WDW every President's Week. Compared to our past experiences this same week at WDW, the crowds were small, especially on Friday. When we were at Universal Studios on Friday, we were forced to slow down so that they could build crowds for the pre-show at several rides.

yes, crowds seem to be normal before and after those holiday weekends. :thumbsup2

Was at Universal on Feb 15 and 16 (Fri / Sat). Did IoA on the 15th, got there for the 8AM opening, did pretty much everything we wanted without a whole lot of problems.

On the Saturday, we did UO and the crowds were a bit nuts, so I bought the one time use only express pass for my daughter and myself (about $100 total). Money well spent, we got to do every ride, a coulple twice, but most lines were in the 45 to 60min time frame, and with express we never waited more than 10minutes. Simpson ride was only 10min standby the first time so we rode that twice. Same with MIB.

Went yesterday, arrived at about noon
(was shooting for opening, but my phone alarm hates me  )
We did both parks, the Studios first.
HRRR was about a 10 minute wait.
Mummy was 5. What I found interesting was they appeared to lead us through an extended queue area (maybe for express passes??) before we made it to the ''normal'' queue section :confused3

After Mummy, we hit MIB. The sign said 15 minute wait, I seriously think we waited 3 minutes to get into the auditorium, and walked on the ride right after.

Simpsons wait time posted was accurate, about 10 minutes.

We then went for a second trip on Mummy and utilized the single rider line. (wait time was still posted at 5, but we were right behind a large group of people..overheard them tell the TM they needed 9 seats on the ride, and I could see the wheels turning in his head as to how to get them all on the same car while still being able to fill the waiting car)

Second ride on HRRR was posted at 5, was closer to 10.

Over at Islands, Hulk was posted a 5 minute wait, and was a walk-on for all but the front row. And even that row had maybe 7 people ahead of us.

Spidey was posted at 15 minutes. We walked clear through and didn't stop walking until we were handed out 3dglasses :cool1:

FJ was maybe a 10 minute wait (wait time listed was 15).

I've found that Thursdays really are the best day to go to the parks, and the weather was awesome too. We were there for 11 hours (between both parks, TNA Impact, and Citywalk after Impact) and I still feel I could have stayed even longer (especially not that I'm looking back at this and realizing we only did 3 rides at IOA?!)

We went Feb 22/23(Fri/Sat) and did everything. We found the crowd very light and it only picked up before the Mardi Gras concert on Saturday evening.

Debated buying the Express pass and glad we didn't.

I was at IOA last Friday, Feb. 22. Undercover Tourist had predicted the crowd levels as 9/10, but we thought they were pretty light. I actually did purchase Express passes in advance ($49.99/each) and they were unnecessary. I bought them based on the high crowd level predictions and because we originally thought that we weren't going to be able to get there until 1 p.m., when my sister's conference ended. Turns out the programs on the last morning weren't relevant for her, so we were instead able to get there a few minutes before the park opened. Beelined to FJ, wait was 15 mins. We noticed that it went up to around 60 mins. late morning, but we rode again mid-afternoon and the wait was 30 mins. We did use the express passes since we had them, but I think the longest wait we bypassed all day was 30 mins.

We were at us on the 20th and the only queue we had was for dispicable me for 30mins. Everything else was walk on or a five min wait. We were expecting huge queues so were surprised at how quiet it seemed.:cool1: We went to ioa on the 28th and the castle was posted as hour wait but in reality wasn't even half an hour. The rest again was practically walk on. The biggest queue we found was in hogs head for lunch :rotfl2::rotfl2:
