and we have two rooms reserved. We need one of the rooms to be wheelchair accessible as my father is in a wheelchair. They told me when I made my reservation they would put in the handicapped notation and that we would be guaranteed handicap accessible rooms. On my confirmation it list a baby crib as guaranteed and smoking as guaranteed (which I didn't ask for) but nowhere does it say anything about handicap accessibility. I assume I need to get on the phone, right?

Also, are there elevators at POR? I didn't think so but maybe that's why there is no notation about needing wheelchair access?

thanks, you all are my heros!

Call them. And if you still have questions about what's available because the CM doesn't seem to, call the resort. They'll answer your questions.

POR does have elevators. I would confirm the wheelchair accessible room with DTC and make sure that is noted on your resv. Not everything will show up on your confirmation slip. You also want to reiterate this need at c/i.

When you book a handicapped accessible room central reservations DOES NOT HANDLE IT, THEY MUST CALL SPECIAL SERVICES TO GET THE ROOM BOOKED.
So when you made the reservation they should have put you on hold and gone to special services to see if the type room you required was available, they then block it for you right then.
after this reservation is made, if you call reservations to inquire or make changes, they are not allowed to touch the reservation only special services can do anything with it.
If you did not go through this process then they did not book you a handicapped accessible room.
Call them and ask if that is what the reservation says. Ask if Special services booked the room? it could be that you got a new CM that did not know what they were doing and simply put handicapped in the message area of the reservation instead of following procedures.
in which case you won't get what you think you are getting.
Deffinately call and ask if special services assigned the room and insist they send you the updated confirmation with the special needs clearly stated on it.
