Since I have the day off from work (thanks to the ice storm) I have decided to bake up a few batches of cookies to send to Iraq. I thought of gingerbread man since they keep (but will the break) or some shortbread cookies. Maybe some mix of pretzels, chex, peanuts etc coated with white chocolate. I would think that should keep.

thanks for your help

No chocolate. It melts in the heat. I sent any number of packets to Iraq and hard candies and crystal light individual packets were the most desired items.

It takes so long for the packets to reach the people that cookies ar usually inedible by the time they get them. :( At least where my packets were going, was the case.

If you really want to send something, make something that is dry, and uses little or no dairy (including eggs).
