Rebooking DDP back in December

Does anyone remember people discussing the fact that they rebooked the Free DDP back in December or January. I remember reading something to the fact as staying 1 night at POR and then booking the DDP and flying back home. There was also a phone # that you were able to call from the room. I remember this because WDW was having trouble with the 1 nite stays and planning with the other vacations packages.

Can someone shed some light on this???

The only thing I can think of was back last Fall/Winter if you booked your next trip either while there or I think something like within 7 days after your trip you could book the "free dining" with your package. Is that what your talking about?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. (no pun intended) Do you know how or when you can book this ahead of time or is it even mentioned. We were there in August for the free ddp and it was never mentioned to us at that time, how can you fine out???

I am pretty sure you had to book it either while you were there, or within like 7 days from your departure date. Sorry but I think you missed your chance on that one. Although Disney is offering free Dining to the public again this Aug-Sep....Hope that helps.

Yep, if you stayed at a WDW resort in December (2006) until 12/31/06 you could book a "bounceback" free dining package for this August - September (2007). I don't think this was ever offered at any other time, and maybe was a trial run to see how well they would do with future ressies?

My DH & I were at the WL & BWI last December and never saw anything advertised at either resort about it - if I didn't read about it here on the DIS I would never have known about it!

For example, this post from 12/11/06 was from mikey13V on the DVC board about the program:

If you are staying at any Disney owned and operated hotel (DVC villas on points included), from now until 12-31-06, you may book a Disney hotel with free dining from 8-5-07 to 9-30-07.
Durring your December '06 stay you can call 8844 from your room, or 407-541-5527 elsewhere, to book the package. Check the codes and rates forum for more discussion on this promotion.

This does not include free dining for a DVC stay in AUG-SEPT, only rack rate stays at Disney hotels. You may stay at a DVC resort, but only on cash reservations.

There is no bounceback promotion going on right now, but you never know what Disney will offer in the future
