We rebooked with free dining for next fall. We had to get a suite at AOA to fit all of us. We decided to upgrade for the dining plan to the counter/table service. I'm trying to figure out how much extra that is costing us. We are considered 4 adults (10&13 yr old) and 2 kids.

Were can I find the info. I've tried to look at Disneys website but get "lost" in the info.

Great you rebooked. Upgradingto the regular DDP is a fab choice too, we love all of those TS meals... Mmmmmn.

Should say on the DDP page how much it costs to upgrade or you could do a fake booking up ti where it tells you. It also says the difference in the WDW brochure if you have one.

Was this a bounce back or a pin code? I didn't think discounts for next Fall would be out now...

You should just be able to subtract the cost of the regular DDP and the cost of the QS plan to figure out what its costing you per person per night to upgrade dining plans. Just google Disney Dining Plan costs and it will pop up. Use the 2013 figures.

If I did the math right it's a difference of $77.72 a day during regular season.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm#prices2013 - shows the QS DP as $37.58 for adult and $14.32 for kids. The PLUS dining is $55.59 for adults and $17.16 for kids.

Adult difference = $18.01 per adult * 4 = $72.04

Kid difference = $2.84 * 2 = $5.68

Total = $77.72 a day

The total difference would be # of days * $77.72

It was a bounce back offer. The just did a live chat with Disney but they can't look up my reservation. She did say for adults the quick service was 40.00/day and the DDP was 58.00. So that's $18 for 9 days for 4 people (648.00). Then the kids 20.00 vs 16.00/day for 2 kids (72.00). That's 720.00-does that seem right? It just seems like a lot and then we have to pay the 18% gratuity (about another $200 for the 9 days).

We are staying at AOA in a suite and it's more than staying at POR (moderate) and we just get the basic and we are spending more for the hotel????

Is the dining plan price different in the fall? Can we use 2 quick service meal for 1 table service?

Here's a link to the dining plan prices for 2013. The only time the prices are different are during the peak seasons:

You cannot use 2 QS credits for a TS meal. Disney might let you trade down, but never up.

The cost of the dining plan is the same; the rack rate for the resort you pay is different depending on season and day of the week. You need to price it out to figure what season you can afford.

You cannot substitute 2 cs for a TS; you can from time to time substitute 2 snacks for a CS.

My suggestion is to logging on to the correct board that discusses dining plans. This board is for the theme parks.

If you're trying to save money, you could either keep the counter service meals and just get one or two table services out of pocket, or you could downgrade from the suite to 2 rooms at a value. Getting two rooms is actually a fair amount cheaper than getting the suite. Even the suite at all stars music is cheaper than the suites at aoa.

What I don't like is that when you upgrade, you give up one counter service a day. So for that $18, you lose a $9 counter service meal but you gain a $20 table service meal and a $7 dessert. It wouldn't be worth it to us because we don't always eat dessert or like having ADRs for every day of the trip. We also like eating at places like scifi that are relatively cheaper.

Tip is $200 for 9 days how did you calculate that number, as I was thinking it would cost the seven of us at least $300-$400 in tips depending on where we eat for 7 days. I also got the free dining for next fall but I am squeezing my family of five into a POR room. My mother and father chose POR as well.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a bounce back offer? :confused3

Thanks

A bounceback offer is an offer that you will get if it's being offered in your room while you're on property. It's an incentive to book your next trip before you actually leave your current one :thumbsup2
