rebooked on board last year, now FL rates?

booked last Nov for this Nov - received $200 re-booking onboard ship credit

Now, hoping for FL resident rates (swapped my dh for a FL resident friend's dh who is cruising with us) for our cruise.

Will we lose our $200 re-booking credit? The resident rates have been running about $400 better than what we originally paid, but by "letting go" of the original booking and getting those rates, do we lose our credit?

And, just so you know we'll be gifting our friends very nicely for allowing us to swap (lol) dh's for this!

Booked through DU, got their rebate (we're up to 7 DU folks so hoping for the free gift too!). Is there anything I've forgotten?

Unfortunately you will lose the $200 shipboard credit, but will retain the DU rebate.

I believe that the only person who will get the FL resident rate is the FL resident. You have to show proof of residency at the port.

Also if you made changes to an existing reservation you should keep the $200 ship board credit. I would email DU with you questions though.

As long as the Florida resident is the 1st or 2nd name on the reservation and provides proof of residency at check-in, you should get the FL resident rate for the stateroom, including all passengers. I'm not sure about the shipboard credit though.
I'd double check with your TA to be certain.

We've sailed many times using the FLA resident rate and have taken our non-FLA resident family members with us. As long as there is a FLA residents' name listed on the reservation, everyone under that reservation qualify for the rate. When we get on board we go to Guest Services and switch our room cards around appropriately. You will loose the $200 on board credit, but the savings definitely are worth it.

As others have said, you will loose the onboard credit.

We had booked a cruise while onboard in November. Then, FL resident rates came out for May. We swapped and lost the credit but still ended up saving money with the FL rate.
