We will be spending Thanksgiving at the BWI (concierge) and my pre-trip slump is early this time!!!! Kind of feeling blah about the BWI lately.... This will be our first time there and first time staying concierge (at rack rate at that! Gulp!) Please share some your good BWI experiences!!!!

You have chosen my all time favorite place to stay. The cast there will make your trip just as wonderful as you can imagine. They are the best around. The location is great. I love being able to walk to Epcot to just stroll through the countries. You will have a magical trip!

I have never stayed at the bwi (pictures look nice) but have spent quite a few vacations at the bwv. Its a beautiful resort

Cant image you not enjoying your stay here. the location is great, walk to epcot or take the ferry and walk to MGM or take the ferry. bus to MK or walk thru EPCOT and take the monorail.

Theres evening entertainment on the boardwalk not to mention a variety of restuarants to choice from not only on the boardwalk (ESPN, Spoodles, Flying Fish, the Bakery) but within a short walking distance..i.e. beach club, yht club, dolphin and swan have some very good food offerings

stop fretting - your gonna love it - have a great holiday trip

We are going to be at BWI shortly also. While we have never stayed there, we have stayed three times at BWV and the location can't be beat - walking/boating to Epcot/MGM, easy access to several other resorts for dining opportunities, entertainment on the Boardwalk - these are just some of the reasons why we stay here. I have also read lots of great threads about the BWI concierge with excellent reviews. Hope you love it!

What could there not be to love. Walkways to Epcot & MGM...beautiful, picturesque view of BC,YC, Swan and Dolphin. I love listening to the boats late at nite. Totally peaceful beautiful area.

You have picked the best spot IMHO of all WDW..Trust me, once you have been there, you will be hooked and nothing else will do...

I'm actually jealous .wish it was me. We are going tmrw and BW was booked..staying at Riverside...I am sure I will enjoy it, but my heart is always at the Boardwalk.

Guess I am a NJ girl through and through

I loved the BWI! The concierge staff are wonderful. You can't beat the location of the BW. It's my favorite so far.

We will be there shortly after you. It is our second stay at the BWI but first concierge stay. I am so excited!! We stayed at the WL last year and while it was nice, I was homesick for the Boardwalk. Doubt we will stay anwhere else from now on. ENJOY!!!! :cool1:

We stayed in the Villas on our honeymoon and so far that is my favorite resort!! We had a blast, never once had a problem. Beautiful resort and a lot of fun!!!

Susy - I will be at the BWI concierge with my family over Thanksgiving, too!!

It is our first stay also. It is one of the only deluxe resorts I haven't tried yet & I am really looking forward to it. I have seen pics and think it looks so charming and yet elegant. I have only read nice things about the staff. I think we will have a fabulous time there! :sunny: No reason to worry!! :wizard: We always have so much fun hanging out at the Boardwalk & renting the surrey bikes. That is one of my kids favorite things to do, believe it or not! :earboy2: That area is such fun.

I have 3 kids -two little girls (a blondie w/ piggy tails and she uses a white cane, and a spunky 5 yr little brunette) and a 15 yr old son. If you see us in the lounge, say "hi"! (hope we aren't arguing or making creeps of ourselves!! ;) <LOL)

I do know what you mean about that pretrip slump, though. I am there with you. Too early to pack, too late to make any changes or additions to the trip. It will pass in a few days and we will be running around like crazy!

Have a great time at WDW over Thanksgiving!

I really enjoyed this resort. DH and I were married at Sea Breeze point (on the boardwalk) and honeymooned at BWI. The ambiance of the resort is wonderful. You'll definitely enjoy it once you're there.

Don't worry one bit you will have a great stay at the BWI!! :flower:

After many years of staying only at GF, or sometimes at YC, and one time at Poly, last year we stayed at the BW for the first time.

We were supposed to be on the Disney Cruise with 2 dozen other family members, but we ended up too pregnant to sail, so we were scrambling for some "land" ressies, leading up to our GF ressies when we were already scheduled to get back from the cruise.

We couldn't find any suites anywhere on property, and they suggested we try BW. We hesitated, having never stayed there before, but I can tell you it was 100 per cent FANTASTIC!

You may have read my story on another thread about how amazing the concierge were, above and beyond the call of duty. Walking to MGM, walking to Epcot, strolling the boardwalk, the view!! We loved it so much we chose it this year over going back to the Yacht Club.

Off topic, our room at the BW had the biggest jacuzzi tub I have ever seen on property, bigger than in the Presidential Suites at GF, YC, AKL. Who knew? :cool1:

We will be at GF 11/24 - 11/29, then at BW 11/29-12/3.

(And even more off topic, I have never seen ANYONE else that spells their name the same as me!)

I surprised my DH with a stay at the BWI last December (he thought we were staying at POR, but I secretly upgraded us). We LOVED this hotel. We thought it was the quietest of all the places we have tried on property. The rooms were a good size and nicely decorated. Everything was in good condition, the staff was super friendly, and mousekeeping did a great job. We really liked being able to walk to Epcot and MGM from the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants nearby also. You will have a great time, enjoy your trip!

Susy: I know exactly how you feel. I'm booked at BWI for Christmas and I'm actually having panic attacks thinking I made a mistake. My husband really wants to stay there as he likes the idea of walking out of Epcot instead of waiting for a bus or monorail after Illuminations but I just keep thinking that we are going to be missing the Christmas ambiance of the other resorts. I'[m hoping that the entertainment on the Boardwalk will be of a Holiday theme and the decorations will be really great but --- I feel another attack coming on just thinking about it.

We'll probably both be laughing at ourselves after our stay.

I know how you all feel! We are staying at the YC 12/27-1/2 for the first time.We have stayed at the BWI,GF, AKL, WL, CR (all concierge) and loved them all. I love the location of the BWI, the theme and the activity on the Boardwalk. Each of the resorts offers a special feel and I will say that the BWI is one of my favorites. I hope that I will enjoy the YC as much as I have enjoyed all the others!!!!!Have a great trip! :earsgirl:

Lives for Disney: When are you arriving? We will be arriving at the BWI after lunch on the 23rd (Wed). I will have my DS (age 7) and possibly my niece, who is 16-uh oh...If you don't mind posting your name-I don't want to go around asking people if they are "lives for disney"...can you imagine?

BWI is my family's all time favorite! We have stayed there more times than anywhere else. Don't worry a bit ~ BWI is a beautiful, elegant and fun resort. You will love it! :cloud9:

It is my favourite. I love the fact that you can walk to Epcot and MGM. The boat dock is right there if you need it and the quiet pool is just beautiful. We have bee n there twice and will be back in Mar. at the BWV.

Keep your expectations just where they are and you will be so happy! I find that people with high expectations are often disappointed and can't really understand why. BWI is great. The location is the best for an Epcot resort, IMO. I had a grumpy CM at check in but beyond that I had a great stay there. Hit the bakery, enjoy the pool, and love ths short walk to the World Showcase, you lucky duck! Have a fun trip. :sunny:
