Never been to Anaheim, staying at Hojo's. Can anyone give me some suggestions/pricing to the restaurants nearby?

Looking for breakfast or dinner restaurants only (most likely eating inside the parks @ lunchtime)

We stayed at Hojo's last year for Christmastime and went to Mimi's several times...very close, just across the little street there from the parking lot at Hojo's. Very good food, very reasonable too... and they have mickey shaped pancakes for the kids!:) You can also sign up through their website a couple weeks before you go and get coupons to use during your stay (I remember we got a free meal and 4 free muffins...which was great for a snack later in the parks!).

Are you willing to drive? Do you like fast food? Do you like ethnic food or do you prefer chain restaurants? What's your budget?

When we stayed at HoJo, we had a few meals outside the park but they all required driving. We tried Five Guys burgers (15 min drive to the city of Orange) and a small Vietnamese restaurant (about 5-10 min drive), and had a list of other ethnic restaurants to try that I culled from chowhound.com. Let me know if you're interested. There are some good Mexican restaurants in the area, too.

That sounds good to me about signing up, I checked the website but no pricing.... :confused3

If you put in the area code 92802 it will give you the Mimi's on Harbor there and then click on "online ordering". It'll give you prices so you have an idea as to how to budget.

There are also restaurants along Harbor as you go to the cross walk to Disneyland. Mimis is first then some little Millies restaurant. (good enough food we had no wait!) Then Mc Donalds, Quizno's Then Captain Kidd's Buffet (NASTY) IHOP, Denny's, Tony Romas, That's all the way down Harbor to the Ramada Inn Maingate. I just googled Howard Johnso Anahiem clicked on maps and then search near by . :goodvibes: Then street view you can literally look at pics of the street and "walk" up and down it! I LOVE it! :lmao: Make me feel like we are there! I hope that give you place to start searching. Have fun!

Mimi's... the food there is awesome (esp the pumpkin muffins!). Had breakfast and dinner there several times. Each time we had a 15-20 min wait, but it was worth it.

We've eaten at Millies, Mimi's, Denny's and Tony roma's and were happy with all of the. Millie's and Mimi's is very hand though, as is McDonalds but we have McDonalds here in Australia so we like to try other things instead.

Mimi's pricing is similar to like an Applebees or a Chili's. Their portions are big (so you could easily split things), and their menu has a million items. Have fun!

Only skimmed so not sure if someone mentioned this...Mimi's is great for take-out too. Every once in a while, we are just too tired to sit in the restaurant and wait for a meal at the end of the day or only a couple of us want something or we're not very hungry. Anyway, being able to just stop in and order a soup, salad, sandwich, or dessert for take-out from Mimi's has been great. (The take-out menu is more expansive than that; these are just our most common selections.) The prices are very reasonable. Also, if you order soup or salad, you can ask for the bread basket that they would serve at the table if you were eating in, and they will pack that up for you too. They also have gigantic muffins that are a great to-go item in the morning (or grab some the night before so you can get walking to the park sooner in the morning).

If you are willing to walk a bit (1-1.5 miles) the Anaheim Garden Walk has some nice restaurants; California Pizza Grill, Johnny Rockets, Bubba Gump, Cheesecake Factory

We will not have a car. We are staying at GCH Nov 22-26 and I'm looking into places to explore. Is it a "safe" walk from the resort over to GardenWalk or are we going to be risking our lives on the side of a busy road? We have never done DL before, only WDW and US in Orlando.

The walk is safe. It's a well-travelled area full of other tourists from the nearby hotels. The main thing is that once you venture off the resort property, you are leaving the "Disney magic" behind and just out on regular city streets with all the everyday life aspects you would expect, i.e. people, bus stops, traffic, etc. Since we usually stay offsite anyway, this doesn't bother us particularly. Some people go for a more immersive Disney experience though and want to see as little of the real world as possible while there which is why I'm mentioning this.

Thank you so much. We don't mind leaving property, just did not know what to expect.

Generally safe - we walked 1.5 miles to our hotel each night and never feared for our lives! It's well populated with tourists etc so you're not alone. We were stopped once by a lady who I think was homeless (and that was during the day)
but it wasn't dangerous at all
