I am planning on doing the June 2005 West Coast cruise so I'm with you in the excitement of wanting to get things finalized. It would be great if they would at minimum release information like which nights will be theme nights, etc. But we DISers are still the minority of cruisers, your sailing date is still 7 months away.
So since Disney wants to call you about 30 days prior, I'm guessing that yes, it's a little too soon to book your exact reservations this far out. but if you really can't wait, then you could give Debbie or your
travel agent a call. I mean even if you waited until the 90 out point when excursions can be booked, hopefully more info will be known for sure and you won't be taking up time from people who are trying to book vacations that are in the next 60 days for example. but, I do understand your excitement and it's very hard to be patient.
They do seem to book the formal/semi-formal nights on sea days so if you want me to take a guess I'd say good chance of the formal night being on Sunday or Monday and the sem-formal night being on Friday.
We leave Puerto Vallarta at 5:30, Maztalan at 8:00. amd Cabo at 4:00 so it would be easy to plan on Palo any of those nights and not have it necessarily interfere with your other plans.
Also, since these sailings are in conjunction with the 50th anniversary, it might not be surprising if they completely change around their normal menu and rotations. I'm not saying all new entertainment or anything but I would expect some variances. I hope we learn more offical info soon!
