Just read about the Romantic Escape at Sea package. Obviously, the thing that appears most attractive is the massage deal, but is it worth it for the other $100? Any input and opinions are welcomed!

i think that the thing that makes most worth it is that you can pre-book your palo reservations - you dont need to stand in line on your first day on board

We booked the REAS package for our cruise last July, and I would do it again! Although we were about 10 in line to board the ship(just a habbit getting places VERY early) it was nice to know we had the res. for Palo already!! The massage was very nice too! Let me know if you have any more ???!! :goodvibes

I forgot to mention ::yes:: that we had an outstanding server by the name of Florencia at Palo!!

I felt it was worth it just for the fact that I knew that my first choices for Palo's and the spa were the ones I got. I loved the fact that I didn't have to rush anywhere when we got on the ship to make any reservations. I would highly recommend it to anyone like me that doesn't want to rush when they get on board. Just my opinion - next time I will ask for sparkling cider - bottle of champagne is still sitting unopened on my dresser. DH and I don't drink the stuff.

It is worth every penny in my mind. We did it for the first time on our most recent cruise. I called Debbie directly and she took care of everything! We chose our dining rotation, made all of our Palo reservations - dinner, brunch and tea and booked our couples massage. The only thing we had to do on the ship is decided which morning to have the champagne breakfast. We even switched out the standard bottle of champagne for the Iron Horse (for a small upgrade charge). It was well worth it to have all of this done for your and not have to run around right after boarding. We will do it on all future cruises!

What if your husband doesn't want to do the couples massage? Could I book two individual massages for myself?

I think these folks hit the key points, if Palo and massages are very important to you, then it may be worth it to you.

We had no interest in Palo or a massage so it would be a complete waste of money for us. This was a family cruise for us, time to be with our kids, and other an 90 minutes at wine tasting, we were with our kids 24/7 for the week. Nice to be their friends instead of mom and dad for a week.

and what if you did not book your cruise directly with dcl, but with a ta. do you let your ta know you want to book this REAS package, and tell your ta all your preferences for spa, palo, dinning rotation, etc. or can you call dcl directly to add your REAS on?

thank you in advance!! :flower:

Yes you can book two massages for yourself. However, you can only book one through Debbie in advance and you'll need to book the second one once you get onboard...so you still kinda have to do the ressie rush (but at least it's only for one thing). You only have a choice of two massages, the spa taster and the swedish, I believe it is.

Our TA added the REAS to our cruise (anything that changes, adds or removes money must be done through your TA). Once your TA does that you can call DCL dining directly to make all your REAS ressies.
