I was trying to price out my planned October trip to the Fort (tent site) and it says there's nothing available except cabins??? Really?! Could this be a system glitch or is this a ploy to get me to book a more expensive trip? ;)

Try expanding your dates a little bit and see if something pops up then, you can always book for longer than you want to stay and then call back and cancel the days you don't want. This is a trick that many people here say works, never tried it myself.

Good luck.

I literally booked a tent site for the week of Halloween with reservations about 10 minutes ago... I'd just give them a call, the website does weird things.

when you go to the WDW :surfweb:web site make sure you go to the camp sites at Fort Wilderness not the cabin site at Fort Wilderness. They are separate from each other and are listed several lines down from each other.

I booked our vacation for the third week of Sept a week ago. It kept telling me they were full for that week. I could NOT believe they were fully booked this early and for that time of year. Well, I was checking under packages, when I switched it for just a room/campsite they were available. So I don't know if this really made a difference, but it worked and then I just added tickets.

We never book through the website we call and talk to a real CM:banana:

My experience is you have to try everything. This last trip Oct 16 to Dec 3 2010 we initially tried to book thru Dreams Unlimited, but all they could get were partical dates for either the premium or preferred and we were looking for just FHU. O.K. but then we tried to see if any AAA discounts were available and were told we couldn't do or check that since the ressies was in Dreams Unlimited's name and not ours. O.K. after a couple of weeks with no progress DW started calling to try and make separate ressies directly on the phone and after a couple of no days of availability I said heck let me try on line. First try I got a FHU for our entire trip in two ressies on line. In the end we got like 10 days of AAA discount, but it was spread over 5 separate ressies.

I'm not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to the "Fort Wilderness Booking Fairy" :rotfl2::lmao:
