We have now realized that booking a value was a mistake as we now know we can't rent a rollaway bed. We have a 10 and 11 yr old that are big and need their own beds. Dealing with 2 dbl beds is going to be rough. Best case scenario, we bring an air mattress for our oldest son. :(

There is nothing available for an upgrade. We'd like a moderate.

Is there anything we can do? Keep trying? Looking for any suggestions at all?

Are you calling and speaking with guest services? I ask because CRO doesn't usually have the ability to check on expired promos, so they wouldn't be able to check availability/modify a reservation booked under FD since the booking window has expired. With that said, the only thing you can really do is keep checking with guest services. Good luck!

If a moderate isn't available, you could check to see if an AoA or ASMu family suite is available. It would probably price out more than a mod (if it was available), but you would get more space and still retain your free dining promo. Did you ask about a Ft. W cabin?

My only other idea is to book a room-only at the same resort/same room category and put down connecting rooms as your only request. It's not guaranteed, however. And if you did this, you would have to take one adult off of the original reservation (thereby losing their free dining) and make them the lead on the second reservation. Could be risky solution if you don't get connecting rooms.

I would call daily to see if anything opens up and as the PP mentioned, the CRO CM will have to get guest services involved.

From what I understand, the current policy is you have to cancel the existing reservation and book a new one with whatever offers are currently available. The free dining offers have expired.

I think the only thing you'll be able to do is bring an air mattress and let the kids take turns sleeping on it.

I was able to upgrade on an expired room-only code in February. Not sure if things have changed since then? It's always worth asking, IMHO.

They can check with the offers original inventory.

The way things work at the moment when you cancel free dining, even if it's just to re-book you, you will lose the free dining. They changed the way it all works because of too many people taking advantage of things.

When I go to MDE and do 'change reservation', I see other resort options and says 'free dining'.
I don't know if you modify it there, maybe you can keep your free-dining?

There is an option to 'change' resort when on the website. I clicked on it this morning and two other resort options popped up with the free dining for my dates, etc.
It would double my price so I chose to stay moderate. :) But it is possible to change the resort.

I'm not sure why you say you can't rent a roll away bed. We stayed at a value last year and we were able to get a roll away (they did tell us availability is first come first serve). We moved the table and placed it against the wall. We still had room to move around even though it was a bit more crowded. If you aren't able to switch your reservation you might check and see if a roll away is available.

If you're just looking to change resorts then you are able to do that even with an expired promo IF there's availability. When you call make sure you are clear that you're not looking to cancel your current package but just looking to see if you can get a moderate resort as you need more space. I make changes constantly with no issues but of course it's all subject to availability.

Also, keep in mind, you may need to call and check daily sometimes twice per day as inventory is constantly changing with others making changes and cancelling.

Good luck!!

That's so weird...the agent on the phone told.me we couldn't. Which value were you at?

Good to know! So even though the offer is no longer offered...booking time has since expired, will availability still fluctuate? I am assuming based on cancelations? It's been pretty unavailable for a while...nothing left.

Availability can fluctuate as folks change & cancel all the time...heck, I've been known to switch my resorts around quite a few times even after my promo has expired :rolleyes1.

You're best chance will be to call and check daily, sometimes a few times/day - it's a pain but sometimes persistence does pay off... good luck!

Great idea! Would checking the website be the same? I can go into my res and change the resort...it will show me what's available including the free dining or room rate. There is never anything but I haven't been checking daily neither.

Won't hurt but I will tell you based on my experience I've had better luck calling vs. the website and not sure why since you would think inventory would be the same. And when I say persistence, I mean for months, I'd call at least twice per day and check the website multiple times per day - I was like a nut - but I did get lucky!

Which moderate are you staying? We got the roll away bed on All star sports with no problem, we asked for it at the check in, sometimes the agents on the phone have no clue.

I agree with @mommyrosa2. I booked the bounceback with free dining two weeks ago on a whim. First off, I booked it the day AFTER I checked out! I had also emailed guest services the night of checkout, saying I wanted to book the bounceback but that it it was too late when I had called (they had closed at 11 pm when I had called just before midnight). But when I called the next day I just explained how we were on the road and I had called too late to book. She checked with someone and it was no problem!

Anyway, I booked but decided four days later to add days to my reservation. I actually ended up picking totally different dates within the booking window.

As well, remember that email I sent? Well, I received several responses from guest services saying to call them back and book. Of course, I had already booked so I didn't bother. But 10 days later, the same guy who emailed me called me! Wanted to know if I still wanted to book the bounceback. I was impressed!

We always get a rollaway. We got them at Pop last year, we've gotten them at All Stars and also at Carribean Beach....

If you wanted to take something just to be on the safe side and if you are driving, you can get a camping bed at Bass Pro. It's a small folding bed about 4 feet wide. My 25 year old son slept on one of these all week at the beach this year. He said it was very comfortable and it was pretty cheap - can't remember exactly how much, but I'm thinking it was less than $50.
